Hello
I have a suggestion, question thing to say.
What if someone played Spiral Knight before, and got all the basic recipes, and later the missions upgrade was implemented. Then that person plays those rank missions, but the only reward for him is prestige, because he/she already has all the recipes offered as a reward.
So is it alright for me to suggest to give those that played long before a better reward?
Like the amount of crowns that those recipes costs, or something else.
rewards from rank missions
That`s the case. Having all the recipes from before make all the mission reward only with prestige.
And, let`s say it`s about me, now was that update with rewards for ranks. Got 3 stars rewards because I stopped doing rank missions hoping it might change in the future. Now it looks like a bad idea, and I got 2 fine, nice looking, useless piece of equipment.
Sorry for sounding like I hate it, but I`d like to suggest a better rewards for players that played the game before prestige appeared.
I -- like so many other veterans of this game pre-missions release -- would very much recommend that the "bound recipe rewards" be given the same sellback price as the regular, unbound recipes that were originally available in Moorcraft Manor/Emberlight (and which many of us had likely *ALREADY* purchased one or more of & then subsequently "learned", binding them to our characters), because there is no logical purpose to potentially giving users additional copies of something they may already have -- most especially in the case of the "Azure Guardian" recipe line. >_0
Yeah, but keep in mind not practical=/=useless. The weapons themselves are still as capable as their ordinary counterparts; it's not like they got a debuff, however, if you have the original upgrade of it like I do, using the pretty one suddenly becomes less practical.
However, unless you have the 3* version, it's usage can still be effective. All you do it use the 2/4* on the first stratum of the Tier, and use your bigger blade for the next, considering 2/4* weapons deal less damage in the second strata, whereas 3*5* deal more.
The reason I exempted the 3* version is because if you were 4* with the 3* version, there's really not much you'd want to do with it, besides challenge yourself just a little to beat the T2 bosses with it.
In any case, this topic was discussed a long time ago. To save you the trouble of looking for the thread, I'll just tell you that the general consensus was that we were being given free stuff, these recipes and all the other rank gear as we progressed in the missions. Regardless of the fact they were useless to some of us (myself included) they were still free, and should be appreciated somewhat. Also, if compensation were to be given, the rich would get even richer, having compensation for just about everything because of all the free stuff they're getting they already have.
So it's not that people are just mean, but if compensation was given to those who 'need' it, it's more likely to feed cr into the pockets of those who already have a load. Bluntly put, they said: 'You made the choice to buy it early, you literally pay the price later."
By the way, I was one of the people opting for compensation at that period.

No, that sounds more like "they're punishing people who chose to purchase recipes that were always going to be available at T2/T3 landings, rather than going on near-endless Basil runs and only having a mere chance at being able to find the recipe(s) they actually wanted to buy instead". :/
At any rate...with this in mind, they should have at least given us the option to decide which non-boss recipe series we wanted, so that it didn't seem like they were favoring the Azure Guardian line on purpose. :/
The only problem I think of this is that it is way too late now for that, as months have already passed for giving some kind of alternate reward.
Ah, I was more talking about the Cobalt line recipies, considering that's where the rage was more centered.
The cobalt recipes, as you probably know, were readily accessible to all players via Kozma.
The other recipes; first I've heard of people wanting compensation for those.
The Azure Guardian line was chosen specifically because it was like the 'Base gear' for the entire game. They're like Kunai Knives in Naruto; they're basic, they're not bad, so they'll give them to everyone. Also they have a full set.

I know, I started this because of the "prize" for the rank, given lately. That I got 3* instead of 5* cause I hoped someone would figure out and fix this problem or at least start a topic in the forum long ago, but could`t find it. And after long break I got back to play, and nothing changed. Yes, I`m whining.
I`m talking about the cobalt line recipes. Because it`s like the main equipment to choose, as stated above.
But an idea of getting different recipe is also good, though I`d prefer crowns over it. because otherwise it beats the whole working hard to finally find it at Basil shop.
I don`t mind other stuff. While they`re useless, they`re still new for me, and while I would not buy it, It`s nice to get it from a mission and see how it works. Especially tier 1 missions.
But to get recipes I already has bought/learned is a different matter. I don`t appreciate getting the same book twice without being able to return it to store for full price.

WARNING- rage incoming
no, it`s more like, "you were stupid to buy the main stuff, cause it would be free sooner or later."
I decided to buy it early and I paid for it early, and now I`m paying again for the same stuff(not talking about gear, but recipes)
If they were even some additions to the gear, like wings, ear and stuff, it would be slightly better.
Corinthmaxwell, take you pennies back, or you`ll have to pay again to say the same thing.
If thats the case then the prestige area would kinda be for no reason because then you'd just be doing Rank missions only for prestige. Though having a larger pay would be a good idea.
