Improved options for social interactivity in Spiral Knights

Hello, I'm new here, this is my first post in the forums. I'm not new to the game though, I've been playing quite a bit (almost a year), my char is a Vanguard with a well balanced arsenal of weapons and armours that I created over the time.
I've been looking for a thread discussing the suggestions I'm about to give, but didn't find anything. If there is anything like that already, please forgive me for double posting.
I've been enjoying playing SK a lot since I started playing. It's fun, there are a lot of active people, and the game is actively developed which means, every time you spot a bug, the bug fix is already under way. I also enjoy the new features that are added, they are great, but still there's something I miss very badly here. It seems like communication to other players is somewhat left aside in this game. To me, SK needs to become more social (no, not the buzzword, the real thing). So please take the time to consider the suggestions I'm about to make. This is more or less a feature request.
1) Technically, there's a lot already implemented.
- You can talk to people around you
- you can talk to a whole map using /zone
- you can talk to your guild using /g and you even have things like a channel for officers ( /officer )
- there are actions like /me /dance /poke ...
1.1) Here I'm asking myself why there aren't any tabs. When hanging around at the Auction House, chat can get really messy. I am aware that SK tries to keep the user interface simple, but even splitting up guild talk ( /g and /officer...) and normal talk into two tabs, maybe even a third one for /tell would be a great improvement to ease up communication.
1.2) There are player interactions like /poke /dance /hug /sit ... some (all?) support directing those actions towards other players. Those actions require a correctly spelled player name or the player will get an error message. So, why isn't there any tab completion for players currently around you, on your friend list or guild?
1.3) Following several discussions at the same time is very tiresome. Scrolling up the logs in SK is very annoying and is very confusing. SK is a game which needs player interactions, so the easier it is to keep up with a discussion the better.
2) Players have the option to add people to their friend list. Now, personally I use the friend list as a means to find friends and stay in touch with them. If I talk to a very nice person, I'll add them and help them out during their rank missions e.g. If I do an Arcade mission or a FSC with strangers and they prove themselves to be the kind of team players that I can interact with very smoothly, I'll add them too and join them in the future during missions. Please do take the time and see how other players use this feature, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. And if I'm not the only one, there are some major things missing:
2.1) Now, I won't be able to remember the first encounter with everyone on my friends list (usually they stay there until they left the game for over three months or even longer if I know them personally). But, when getting into touch with them again, I need to have certain information about them. Sometimes, when venturing on a difficult mission with a team of three players, when everything goes wrong we sometimes invite a fourth person to come to our rescue. I don't remember where I got to know all people and how good they fight or what kind of gear they have. If I got to know them during a battle against Vanaduke, they might be good help in a Danger Mission. Nice traders with proto gear won't change the game against a bunch of trojans.
- As a player, I need to be able to categorize. Implementing tags or groups would improve things, but not solve the problem.
- Being able to inspect friends (ranks, best gear, i don't know). Maybe the nice person in front of the AH is also able to fight Vana with me. How would I know. But, doing missions together is something positive that should be encouraged. Knowing how many people you could take with you when starting a new one is even better.
3) I don't always meet people whom I like. Sometimes I meet very rude people acting unfriendly but not insulting towards me, trying to cheat me while trading, or deliberately trying to get on my nerves in some other way. I'd love to have a foe list (black list) too in addition to the friend list where I can flag the people I told to myself to stay away from, notifying me whenever I get into contact with them again (/tell or trading e.g.) without me having to put them on Ignore. There are people alive who I can get along with during the day, but during my recreation time I don't want to have anything to do with them because that would just kill the fun. And I especially don't want to make my brain remember their [names] just to avoid them the next time.
To me, SK is recreational and fun. And SK is the kind of game that gets better the more people are playing. Communication amongst players is a good thing but when trying to talk to many players it can get messy quite quickly. So I hope you take the time to consider this, social interactivity would improve a lot due to an enhanced user interface.
Lastly, I apologize for the grammar and vocab mistakes, I'm not a native speaker. But I do hope some of those ideas got your brains working. The ideas I mentioned aren't perfect, so I'm looking forward to read what you guys have to say.
What's your opinion?
Greetings,
Sasigher

Yes, thats good idea of things that most of popular MMO's have, but try to remember its interface.. If they will add all things you asked here - the pop-up menus will be quite long. Just imagine how heavy will interface be with all this.
I remember how was it fun to learn new chat commands when I just started to play, and interface was very friendly and light. Only main useful things, no knick-knackery. And also pros for current chat system is that player don't need to click click click to use it.
My mind says yes to your suggestion, but my heart says NO >:o

The current chat system does get annoying, so these changes get my approval! ^_^

What about VOICE CHAT? How come Steam players get to use it and non-steam users don't? And why can't it give us any indication whatsoever which of the other players can hear us without asking every single one and getting a response (some might hear us but just be lazy or jerks)

Meh, Voice chat is steam exclusive. Voice chat uses another server, and is on a whole new layout. Basically OOO could not make a call on it.
If you want an indication of whether other players can hear you, Esc, Voice (or steam tab), check "push to talk" button.
On-topic, I generally approve of Idea #1. I don't really approve of #2, tch "tagging people", maybe I just don't have a lot of friends and don't need such classification. #3, meh, tis' be a troll idea.
Since my two biggest critics ,Psychodestroyer and Zaffy-Laffy, have already approved of this idea How can i say a no?But the problems is as said by Ewbte also i would suggest having a tutorial for the new players telling them about how to use the social interface. Because when i was new and i was talking to my friend i had to type his whole name. That time i didn't know about the /reply option so a tutorial for new players about the chat system will be nice.

i just would like to add a FILTER in the chat, so you can hide ieither only some channels or turn off the chat window completely.
thanks for your time

Why can't all new posters be like you?
I read through everything, and unless I missed something, I can't find anything I wouldn't want implemented. The general idea of them at least.
+1'd! .( ^ .^)~b
"Lastly, I apologize for the grammar and vocab mistakes"
We only mind if it's absolutely so terrible that we can barely interpret it. I'd say you're clear.
Side note: Although your 'Black list' function could be associated with the Ignore option, I much prefer not cutting contact with people entirely. Sometimes it's good to hear what they're talking about rather than just pretend they're not there.
