I couldn't think of a good title, so there you go.
I was thinking about a making a SK video, and thought about scenes in "special circumstances", like Vana smashing down near you. So, I thought, why the hell can't we dodge roll? Point in a direction, hit a button, your lil' guy rolls a certain distance. Would be lovely for dodging slag breath, Vana's mace and the like.
Of course, don't make dodging so amazing you can just roll about the place and never get hurt. So, some restrictions:
1) You can only roll within X time between dodge rolls.
2) Status effects, like fire and shock can be received mid-roll, but the effect does not take effect until the roll is complete.
3) Damage, such that health is actually lost, interrupts the roll.
Why be able to roll?
1) Dodging is generally easier to do, rather than being so reliant on that shield.
2) Can actually get out of sticky situations a bit better in both PvE and PvP (say, Recons, roll away from Strikers and go invisible).
The problems:
1) Slow attacks, like Vana's mace, are very easy to avoid.
2) Whatever else people can think of.
Yes? No?
It's a no, isn't it? I bet it is. Away with your negativity!
Vana's mace actually hase a pretty large hit radius on impact. You'd have to roll pretty far to avoid it.
Also, in PvP, that would be a too overpowered move. I mean, imagine a guardian rolling to dodge attacks. Doesn't make much sense considering it's meant to be a less "movement-base" class. As for recons, that new patch has already made it a tad harder to hit them. Don't double buff them. and for Striker... well, I think it's quite obvious.
