HI i beg to say Hi
Hi
You think being given a few virtual items will prove yourself?
Prove what, exactly?
If you want to "prove yourself" you will want to EARN those items.
It's not even that hard!
Honest! It's not hard at all!
I've only gotten back into the game last Sunday. I went from having only zero star gear to almost all 2 star gear in about 3 days just by doing about one arcade run a day, then using alchemy to make myself some 2 star gear from recipes. Granted some of it's not the BEST 2 star gear (firebreak armor, Spur, etc), but it's a large improvement nonetheless.
My advice? Do some arcade runs (preferably with a team so you can go farther down), learn how alchemy works (ask around if you're not sure), and use days that you're not likely to play much to spend your Mist Energy on alchemy. Give it a few days and you'll be tier 2 with some pretty good guns. And by doing so, you'll have mastered the skills needed to survive (and "prove your skills") on the harder levels.
(hopefully you read that and didn't just dismiss me right off the bat...)
Also, if you're missing materials for your alchemy, and you don't want to farm enemies for them, you can always bid for them on the auction with crowns.
I typically do that if I'm missing anything, and I've gotten a lot of items for a fair price (and sold a couple for pocket change as well).
In fact, my typical schedule is: Do arcade run as far down as I can -> Buy/find recipes for a new item I think I want -> when low on energy, see what materials I need to make my next item -> go to auction to bid on/buy the missing pieces -> log out -> come back the next day to make the item via alchemy, and then do another run as far down as I can. Repeat.
For the early game it works pretty well.
I just gave out all my cool stuff, not to mention I don't really like beggars.
So the other day I was in Haven, when a knight just like you came up to me and asked for stuff. So I gave him the CE, and tricked him into giving me his address, and I proceeded to find him at his house. I then shook his hand and asked him how his day was going. He was a pasty white kid, and looked as if he'd never seen the light of day before. I asked him about our encounter, and as soon as I'd verified his identity, I twisted his arm and he looked into my eye, and I felt the fear rising in his heart. But I kept twisting, until I heard a crunching noise. And then I pushed his arm back and behind him, and he began to yell and tried to break free, but I kept at it.
As he struggled, I grabbed his other arm, and bent it over until it connected behind him- I then took his hands and forced his face onto the pavement of his house, where I lifted up my boot, and brought it down onto the back of his head as hard as I could. He tried to get up, but couldn't manage. The glorious crunching noise of his teeth grinding on the pavement through his tears brought a smile to my face as I slid the metal baseball bat I'd brought out of my backpack. I flipped him over, and, keeping him pinned, broke both of his knee caps.
Through yells of agony he screamed and cried for his mother- but I persevered, my toothy grin growing larger with the snapping noises of his jaw bone- I had to quiet him before he attracted attention. Duct tape from his jaw to the top of his head did the trick. His fingers were next- I held them to the pavement and took out a lighter- melting the flesh together into the pavement, the awful yet glorious scent rising through the air tickling my nostrils. Silence truly is golden.
As he lay broken and bleeding to death on the pavement, I took out his lap top, and logged into his Spiral Knights account. The last thing he saw before I sliced off his testicles and left was the 500 CE he had asked for being transferred over back to my account- that look of recognition, of betrayal on his face.
Have a nice day! <3
I...Bwe...Wh- DUUUUUUDE!
0_o Overkill, much?
Wait, no, I take that back.
There's overkill,
There's nuclear bombardment,
There's planetary destruction,
And then there's what you just did.
Jeez... >_>
Fehzor's actually just getting sick of beggars. And the fanfiction was actually rather vibrant for some brief sk-related... Thriller.
Anyway, request this be moved to treasure vault.
Fehzor wrote "Through yells of agony he screamed and cried for his mother"
This fits perfectly. WARNING!!! Play at your own risk
On topic:
You could look into getting any one of these

Wow, fehzor is either in a mental institute or either is a tormented kid who lacked the love of his parents when he was 3
Point is that ppl like him just ruin the fun of this game lol, I just have 1 thing to say: "u suck kid idc what u think lol"
Fehzor's a girl...I think.
Also, OP, just...Stop.
"...ppl like him just ruin the fun of this game..."
But people who beg like you don't? Hmm...
Prithee, peace.
Beggars are a seven sin.
Fehzor had a idea.
We all want to do that to the fools who insult and hassle us for Internet currency.
Like you. You ruin the experience of the game.
No offense but please don't use the forums to beg for stuff. The GM's and us community member's use this do discuss matter's so please don't do this and work hard to get your gear. :)
