"To be mature is to accept imperfections."
Overview
White Wild Majesty is a guild formed for the sole purpose of promoting community, maturity, and stability within the guild itself and within the game of Spiral Knights. It was formed on the two-year anniversary of the game after the tragic and entirely preventable crash of a much older guild, several members of which had decided to find an outpost where the way of life they'd found to their liking would be sustained. As they wished to keep some of the work that had been done intact, a new guild was created. White Wild Majesty was never meant to be a large guild, or even a well-known one. What it does best is providing for its members.
The name of the guild itself springs from a somewhat obscure game that the guild founder, Amaki, was a fan of. It generally doesn't come up in conversation, to spare the ears of those less interested. The guild's name isn't a priority for its function in any case.
White Wild Majesty believes in each individual earning their own way. Its members help each other, but do not give what should be made. In the interest of improvement of both self and group, its members are first and foremost adventurers. Spiral Knights is meant to be played and explored, after all. The guild does not exclude others who have other interests within the game, however. It accepts Blast Network and Lockdown players, merchants, and Clockworks runners alike. Its primary goal is the promotion and safety of its members. Those who agree with that mission over all others, welcome. We promise to work for you and for us all.
Recruitment
Though White Wild Majesty has no absolute rules in terms of who it will accept, there are definite guidelines in place to make sure its membership is capable of coexisting and promoting the guild. Potential recruits are expected to fill out the following short application. In addition, it is expected that everyone who applies has read this document and understands the goals behind the guild's formation. Community and maturity are more than words, they are concepts that not everyone is able to understand. We expect recruits to think through their decision carefully. Again, it is critical that guild members show an adult level of maturity regardless of their actual age. Maturity means a level of experience and self-reflection that is not acquired at birth.
There are three "short answer" questions on the application. Once you've answered them with as much detail as you think is necessary, post it here. This keeps the thread visible to others. All officers are authorized to make recruitment decisions based on what they find here.
- What have you accomplished in Spiral Knights so far?
- What guilds have you been a member of in the past, and why did you leave them?
- How did you hear about White Wild Majesty, and why do you want to join us?
Promotion
Ranking within White Wild Majesty is done much like recruitment, according to demonstration rather than abstract rules. Each rank has a specific number of slots available, but how those are filled depends heavily on the needs of the guild and the abilities of those vying for those spaces. All members are expected to show a minimal level of activity regardless of rank. Veteran rank is determined based on a large number of factors, including demonstrated adherence to the principles of the guild, and is a considerable honor. Officer rank is only for players who demonstrate everything the guild looks for in its members, function as core elements of the guild, and can be trusted to possess the wisdom and management skills needed by any successful guild.
As our current recruitment limit is 100 members, there is a maximum of 3 officers and 16 veterans. All promotions are earned, not given. However, since promotion is directly tied to adherence to the principles of the guild, it is expected that any successful member will make an attempt to earn promotion.
Upkeep
The leadership of White Wild Majesty is of the belief that required donations drive away otherwise productive members and has decided not to require donations to pay for upkeep. However, donations are still highly encouraged given the team effort that is the guild. The adminstration keeps a record of which members have pledged donations and calculates maximum upkeep from this figure. Only when enough people have pledged will the guild hall gain new features.

After trying to think of something to write for a while, I decided to just say...Hi to all potential members, and I hope you consider joining White Wild Majesty. We're only in our early days, but I hope we can become a nice guild where everyone feels like they're part of something. That's probably it ^w^
