Hello, and welcome to the wonderful world of Spiral Knights. You may have noticed the guild names under our player’s names and wondered what a guild is or does exactly.
First off, Wiki is your friend for just about everything about Spiral Knights.
Basically, guilds are groups for making friends to play with and help one another, and talk with about the game and other interests. A guild does not allow you to make any special weapons or explore any extra hidden levels.
It only costs 500 energy and 50,000 crowns to create a guild, so if you are thinking about going that route, here are some things to consider in order to optimize your guild experience.
1. Know you guild identity or vision. Do you want to focus on some aspect of the game? Do you want to limit membership to certain ranks or elite players? Do you enjoy certain mission, or are looking to help other newer members along?
You and your friends may want to found a guild together and all be Guild Masters, but you’re going to want to recruit. You can do this in the Forums in the Guild Recruitment section.
You can also recruit in the various Havens, but be sure and ask the player first and don’t just send a random guild invite. Some guilds ask a few background questions before inviting players to join in the hopes of avoiding a bad fit.
2. It helps tremendously to have a guild website for organizing and teaching your guidelines for rank promotions, sharing fun screenshots, etc. In particular you’ll want to think about your guild rules regarding behavior (don’t beg, don’t spam invites to your party) and language (no cussing, no explicit sex jokes, etc,).
It’s best to have this all thought out and set up before you start your guild. I use a nifty free site called forumotion.
You can see what my guild’s website looks like here.
3. Each guild also has a guild hall which can be constructed and decorated within some prescribed parameters. While it’s not necessary to ever use your guild hall, you’ll probably want to build it up eventually. This requires a fair amount of in-game wealth which newer players generally don’t have, so don’t purchase expansions that you cannot afford because it’s really embarrassing to go into default.
4. Probably the most important factor in building a great guild is an active and engaged Guild Master or two. Socialize and help out, be the fair parent when issues arise, and model the kind of behavior and attitude you hope to see amongst your guild’s members.
If you have any other questions, or would to be part of a nice guild before setting out to establish your own and have been playing the game at least long enough to have all 2* or better gear and at least a Soldier in prestige rank, then look me up and I’d be happy to assist you in enjoying the awesome game.
۞ The Dragon Princess ۞ , Guild Master of Lionheart Guild and wielder of the Lionheart Honor Blade, bids you best wishes in your noble quest, valiant warrior ~ ♥
It's missions*, not mission.
Anyways, nice guild guide
