Hello fellow Spiral Knights, and welcome to the second incarnation of Troupemaster's Fashion Contest!
I had so much fun with the last one, that I've decided to host another one, with spectacular prizes once again! Based on what worked and didn't work in my last contest I've made a few changes, but the concept is pretty much the same. Enjoy!
Rules:
- Anyone can enter!
- Each knight may only enter up to 3 costumes per category
- The knights that placed in the top 3 of a category in my last contest cannot enter this one. We need to let other knights have a chance!
General Info About the Contest:
- It's free to join! No entry fee needs to be paid to enter this contest.
- There are two judges: Me (Troupemaster) and Jwake
- There will be 3 different categories that you can enter:
- Open
- Promo Reskins
- Ugliest Costume!
There are no restrictions for this category! Your goal is to create the most aesthetically pleasing and creative costume you can. You can wear whatever you want, and you will be judged on Creativity and How it Looks
The only restrictions for this category is that at least 75% of the items that you are wearing must be from one of the 4 reskin promotional boxes (Hunter, Surge, Hallow, Frosty and the Helms from the Stormy Boxes (Storm Rider Mantle, Wings of Fury, Thunderous Plate Mail, Eyes of Fury and Items from the Winterfest Prize Box don't count towards the 75%). Weapons and shields don't count towards the percentage. The percentage will be calculated taking into account the helmet, armour, and the accessories on each. This can be confusing, so I'll give an example: You're wearing a surge hood and a snarbolax coat, and you have a hacked aura and surge crest attached. The total amount of items equipped is 4, and 3 of them are from reskin promotion boxes, so you qualify for this category. Your goal is to create the most aesthetically pleasing costume that follows the listed guidelines, and you will be judged on How it looks and Creativity
You can wear whatever you want, but unlike the other two categories, your goal is to create the ugliest, costume you can think of! You will be judged on Creativity and How bad it looks
How Judging will work:
Unlike my last contest, the only way to enter is to post screenshots of your costumes on this thread. Here are the guidelines for these submissions:
All you need to do is take a screenshot of the costumes you want to enter on this thread. You can post up to 3 screenshots per costume per category, and there are some guidelines that you need to follow for these screenshots:
- One screenshot must be from a front view, and one from a rear view. The last screnshot can be from any perspective you choose
- You must take the screenshot in a place that allows the judges to verify that you aren't using the preview function of the Auction House to enter a costume that you don't fully own. The training halls are a good place to take your screenshots.
- You should take screenshots from the character-view window (keybinding is P by default)
- You must include your knight's name in the post that contains links to the screenshots
- The deadline forsubmissions is 12pm CST on Saturday the 13th of July. Posts made after that time will not be entered into judging
The winners will be announced on this thread once all entries have been judged. Depending on how many submissions we receive on this thread, it may take a while. Please be patient.
The Prizes:
This is the bit that I know most of you will have been waiting for - What you can win!
- The winner of Open category will receive 3kce and a Chroma Whelp Monster Pocket to use as they wish. The two runners-up will receive 1kce.
- The winner of the Reskin Costume category will receive 2kce and a Chroma Whelp Monster Pocket to use as they wish. The two runners-up will receive 1kce.
- The winner of the Ugliest Costume category will receive 2kce to spend as they wish. The two runners-up will receive 1kce.

Since I've seen a few entries in promo reskin that don't follow the rules, I've bolded the part that lists what you can and can't use in the promo reskin section. Any entries submitted that don't qualify for the promo reskin category will be treated as entries to the Open category if the entrant has a free entry slot, and if they don't have sufficient slots, the entry will simply be disqualified.

Judging Criteria ExplainedCreativity is scored on how original your costume is - is it just another wolver coat w/ a wolver tail and chapeau, or is it something you don't see each time you're in Haven. The more creative you've been - the more you've deviated from the norm - the higher you'll score in this category
How it Looks, as the name suggests, is scored on what your costume looks like in the eyes of the judges. Alot of this is based on personal taste, which is why I've got 4 judges this time around. The better your costume looks, the higher you'll score - simple!
How Bad it Looks is once again self-explanatory. It's pretty much the same as the previous criteria, but it only applies to costumes in the 'Ugliest' category. The worse your costume looks, the higher you'll score in this category
