5* orbs and crystals are raining like candy, but I can't use them to heat my blight needle. :<

Treasure Boxes. They drop in stacks of 4 or so. Like, 4 of them in one box.

I've had some success on
I've had some success on floors 14-19 elite. It may be worth looking on T3 normal or advanced, but I haven't tested either yet.

Nevermind, I figured it out. Apparently, we needed to scale back the difficulty a bit further than gauntlet on advanced mode.
They drop all over in normal mode S5.

TV's seem to be the best place to find them. If you're correct, then I can manipulate what kind of crystal I get by changing the difficulty. That's interesting. Does anyone know how to use the forge by the way? I have 12 5* crystals and can't heat the stupid Glacius.

My impression of the percentage shown in the forge is that it's a total fabrication. I've had 90% chance forges fail several times in a row. The only one you can trust is the 100% one.

Failed on 90% as well, if it is not 100% it seems to be a fail no matter what. Hopefully this is a bug because I waisted a ton of 5* fires on trying to heat my blitz.
If difficulty has something to do with orbs and fires rating then could you do FSC on normal and get 4* fires? I have not tried it yet as I do everything on elite (payout is too much for me to pass up). So far the best spot to find 4* fire and orbs for me is on stratum 5. I do not know if difficulty has anything to do with it.

Feels more like 0%-0%-100%. I have never got a lvl up on using the first two options and I have tried on all types of weapons (from 1*-5*, no changes). It might just be me but it sure doesnt feel like 70% chance of success.

Looks like the forge is 90% fabrication itself. As for 4 star fires, I found a ton in the third gate fourth stratum (slime?) in the arcade (Yes: three is a ton) on normal or advanced.

Finally found a decent way to get 4* Fire Crystals
Finally found a decent way to get 4* Fire Crystals. Run levels 19-21 on Advanced difficulty. Try to find levels with lots of treasure boxes (like arenas) and avoid levels with few treasure boxes (like the Complex levels with the mini monsters).
It's still a pain-in-the-butt grind, but it's doable. I haven't gotten any alchemy orbs that way, though.

4* alchemy orbs seem to be best found in Elite RJP. Loads of boxes there. I suspect the arcade better than the mission since the RJP one floor deeper there. It also has fire crystals.

I played elite in tier 3, but
I played elite in tier 3, but i got so many 4* orbs and crystals but almost no 5* ones. I would like to trade, but they are bound to the player :((OOO wants that we buy them from the supply depot with ce)

Just for the record, the forums at the time were taking an absurdly long time to do anything. I don't know what was wrong with it, but when I actually managed to get the post up, I found the other one, despite the fact that there was nothing to suggest the forums did anything.
Now I'm going to check the RJP for "rarities".

Forums don't do anything because a forum is not a physical nor a digital object. A chunk of database code run by a very minute amount of server resources, and a page with words on it in HTML format that calls a few images and text boxes from that database are sent to your computer. What you experienced was your computer or connection taking a while to download/assimilate html code, and either an error occurred with your network, or you accidentally/purposefully clicked the "save" button a second time, resulting in a duplicate message being sent.
TL;DR, as long as you've clicked the "save" button, there's a 99.9% chance that your post has been posted (unless you happen to lose connection for a good few minutes and your browser responds with a time-out error) regardless of how long it takes for the ensuing page to load.

@Nethereal Yeah, I was under the *mistaken* impression that using Elite difficulty would make 5* crystals drop instead. It seemed like that was the way it worked when the update was first released, but maybe they fixed it in one of the patches.
To confirm, depths 19-21 on elite difficulty is the best way to get 4* Fire Crystals (though not much better than Advanced from what I've seen so far). Depth 22 seems to be about a 50/50 split between 4* and 5* crystals, and any depth beyond that only drops 5* ones.

I just got to treasure vault
I just got to treasure vault (depth 22) in stratum 5 (4th gate) and they all dropped radiant fire crystals. I played on advanced mode.

I made my own post for this, but this one is cozier...
So we're still not sure what the correlation of level of Orbs and Fire Crystals to the level/depth/difficulty of the areas? Because I cannot find certain orbs or crystals. It's quite frustrating. And are orbs or fire crystals craft-able?

My theory?
I am guessing that those missions that gave certain types of orbs or crystals (IE, the Sovereign Slime gives Advanced Orbs) should also give them just as rewards for that level in boxes and what not, but I'm not sure if it's at elite, hard or normal yet...
Will continue testing and let you know.

On the second floor of rjp. You need to use the last key to get the treasure where there is a high chance of an orb dropping. Only on Elite.

I dunno for you guys, but
I dunno for you guys, but since the update, I'm getting near to zero orb drops...I've been runing a lot these last two days and only got two, while the first day I found at least 10 of those. Clearly they changed the drop rate or something, or am I just unlucky?
I got 39 4* fire crystals in one run. And 3 eternal orbs. And 2 elite orbs. and 3 5* fire crystals. ._.
