Icon Visual Bug

I was playing Firestorm Citadel when for some reason unknown to me the particle effects from the Slag Walkers became square and blurry, then the items that are normally dropped by enemies as materials had their visual pictures out of place and were blurry as though they were being seen through a mirror. The icons also float around in that box whenever the player changes direction.
I was unable to fix the bug until i left firestorm citadel, entered my ready room, and started a tier 1 run on an arcade gate. My brother has also had similar problems like this as well where the candles in Candlestick Keep appeared in a similar manor, appearing as lit when they were not and mirrored and out of place as well.
It would be greatly appreciated if you were to look into this problem as it is really not a game breaking bug, but enough to make it annoying to play with.
I will also provide my system specs below to further help you as well as a link to the described incident.
System: Windows 7 x64
8GB ram
AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0 GHz Socket AM3+ 125W 8 core processor
HIS Radeon HD 7870 GHz 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x 16 HDCP Video card
I hope this helps as i have never had this problem before on my older PC and i was curious as to what was causing this now.
Also if anyone else has had this problem feel free to post a comment as i'm curious to see if anyone else is having something similar happen to them.
EDIT: This bug is not just applied to item icons, it also happened to my knights helmet/costume helm as well.
EDIT: apparently this bug only occurs in the clockworks, leaving it and going anywhere else fixes the visual bug.

THis time when i loaded up haven after a run through the clockworks this happend.
and i thought i had fixed it with your help @Shortnstubby. Looks like Spiral Knights doesn't like higher performace machines.
Also the only way i was able to fix this glitch was to log off then back on again.
Then when i went to quit SK i clicked on the quit button and it froze my game and i had to do a hard reboot of my CPU to get back to my desktop.
Please help.

lol nice one, i seen that happen just last night as well. The changes I suggested I believe are just temporarily and the issues do come back after time but its very minimal compared to what it was before I made the changes. I believe it has something to do with the higher performance like you stated, maybe sk doesn't like running at 200+ FPS and that's why enabling v-sync made a good difference. But there is still an ongoing issue.

Radeon HD 7xxx
This video cards have that issue since they were released, almost 2 years and we still have to see that terrible picture.

Clip of a LD game I just played, was fine first 4-5 games then this started happening, once it starts it will not stop till I restart the game.
If we can get the attention of a dev/mod in here it would be great. But im guessing it has something to do with what the worst knight said, its either a OOO vs ATI issue or an ATI driver issue. Im honestly guessing its a driver issue tbh, maybe I should try the drivers that I use on my laptop that took me for ever to find that stopped it from bsod'ing constantly due to shitty drivers.

was just checking to see if this had been updated anymore, and i see it hasnt but I will also say ive tried also running my client on 64 bit java and still does not help the issue.
Interesting, I have the exact same processor and model of video card, just assembled by sapphire and am running 16gb of ram.
I have video of this happening, but what really slowed down the occurrence was the following
AA @ 4x
Enabled V-Sync
Enabled Render Effects
prior to making those changes almost every clockwork depth would cause me issues, now i rarely if ever see it.
Another thing I've done was installed the new beta drivers from amd/ati for our card and maybe that helped a bit too, the 2nd push of the beta drivers were just released a few days ago.
also, anything with an effect causes the graphical glitch that your showing in your screenshot, ending bullet trail for the blitz is pretty bad, any bombs that create an explosion or haze i guess you could say all bombs lol. I could go on and on, but also I stream and save everything I play so I know I have countless hours of this issue saved.
