Radiant Fire Crystals, too hard to find

As many of you know the radiants have been moved to deeper depth. I find this too hard to acquire them.
1. Get to depth 28
2. Find boxes
3. Hope they are radiants and not shining
It takes an hour just to get 0-6 radiants for me and that's not enough for me to forge anything! I think they are trying to make new levels deeper than the core because the Shroud of Apocrea goes to depth 30. Any idea where their gonna fix this?

The main places I've found Radiants are at the end of stratum 6 Danger Rooms (D24 and lower).

Shadow lairs are the current best place to farm radiants.
Also, D27 has a very rare chance for dropping radiants, while D28 is about 50-50.

Shadow lairs are the current best place to farm radiants.
Truth.

SL's were accessible via energy...
energy's accessible via cr...
Sl snarbolax was fairly easy considering how great some other places can be.
aaaand sl's are accessible so long as you have t3 access.
So... Where's the problem?

Because not every knight is pure 5*. Fewer have an assortment of 5* weapons that would work best for the SL they want to run.

At that level, getting 3-12 radiant crystals per FSC run nets them enough fire crystals to slowly level their stuff.
You only need piles of fire crystals at the full 5* level where you're trying to level many items or quickly level items.

Can't you do the math? To buy 1.800 energy for 1 Shadow Key you will need about 14 MILLION crowns. If you split the cost, it's still about 3.5M cr per player.
50 Radiant FC are worth 700 energy or 5.6M cr. It means you need to get at least 32 FC per run for it to be cheaper than just buying them. Are you sure you can reliably farm 30+ Radiants on one Shadow Lair run, even assuming you have stable party of 4 players? Maybe other loot makes up for that, but so far I can't see how SL can be a good sourse of Radiants.

Uhh...did you do the math?
1,800 E, while pricing 100E at 8k (so much easier), is only 36,000cr per person (or 450E per person).

Ok, so buying one 100 ce is about 8,000 cr. (rounded down/up to nearest 1000) 100 ce is one purchase, so 100ce = 1 pack of 100 ce per 8000 cr.
1000 ce is 10 packs of 8,000 cr, which comes to 80,000 cr. Double 80,000cr to get 160,000cr and subtract 16,000cr to get 144,000cr.
144,000 cr is equivalent to buying 18 packs of 100 ce, which totals to 1,800 ce, the cost of 1 shadow key.
144,000cr is not 1,000,000cr. Please do not try and scare other players away by falsifying information.
Seriously this is basic math, come on.

I totally should sleep more.
Yeah, it's not as bad as I thought.
I apologize for the harsh tone.

Ok, so the only place you can now find Radiant Crystal is depth 28. Let's say 6 is an average number of crystals you can get during single visit to this depth. Usually I play daily prestige mission plus T3 run - the number of levels I play depends on my other responsibilities. I believe I play full T3 run twice a week. It gives 12 Radiant Shining Crystals a week. I need 453 crystals to fully heat up a single item and that gives 38 weeks. And that gives me 9 months to fully heat up one item... cool.
Let's say I'll ignore the swords I already have (I'm not using BTB nor Lionheart Honour Blade nor Mighty Cleaver at all (all level 1), and WRH and DVS are fortunately both already at level 10).
Let's say I'll ignore all new guns that will be introduced with gunner update.
Let's say I'll ignore any new item that shows up in the future (at least in the next 5 years, see below).
Let's say I'll ignore Iron Slug and Senteza (since I have Carbine which makes Senteza totally obsolete).
Let's say I'll ignore Grey Feather Mantle (I'm using it only as costume now).
Let's say I ignore Bitter End (I have level 10 Grey Owlite Shield already anyway)...
...but even ignoring all that I still need 3654 Radiant Fire Crystals to heat up all items I use in my everyday loudouts...
And that gives 64 months before I can thing of crafting new 5* item. That's more then 5 years!
Thanks Nick for making it impossible to enjoy Arcade and freely roam the Clockworks as I always was doing. Now I have to swap to certain missions and FSC farming to increase my weekly Radiant Crystals income.

Let's say I farm fsc, load up a blitz, give two carps less about safety and just slam a lvl1 chaos set.
Using your calculations, I can heat my blitz to lvl 10 in about 4.5 months on my current schedule. (I don't waste my time much doing so since I just don't care to take the time for it, but let's just say that's the case.) we're not counting any pvp, or general fooling around.
ok, done that, and by the time I heated my blitz we'll say I farm fsc/koa another week or so for my fee to join an SL run. I'll pay a little extra so that they'll actually deal with my overall noob butt attempting shadow snarb in low-end chaos and blitz.
I know that quite a deal of radiants can be made of SL's, and that given the right stuff I could turn enough money off the run to only have to farm fsc another time or two max to go again.
Granted, I'm trading fsc farming for an SL... But I would definitely not be bored. Just avoiding Tier 2 sl's without someone to carry my bum.

I am at a similar situation. I just became vanguard recently and still have SOOOO much new gear at level 1

This is OOOs way of saying, "Give me your money or don't heat your 5* gear"
To be honest, people that like this game enough (assuming they make money) will make purchases even for something optional. To force people to spend their money on something like this sorta shows OOO's lack of faith in their own game.
These sort of methods will ultimately push players away even if it does result in some short term success.
People that use these tactics fail to realize how to grasp real success in games. That is to make a game as fun as possible and expand the player base as much as possible. With a large player base even very modest purchases can accumulated to a lot more than forcing a small player base to make larger purchases.
The goal shouldn't be to make money but to expand the player base as much as possible while keeping the game as entertaining as possible to keep those players around. The money will come on its own.

So we've come full circle at last.
We used to be sick of farming FSC for crowns and heat.
Then the update, FSC wasn't as efficient as the clockworks, we rejoiced.
Now the nerf, where are we? Back to ****ing FSC for ****ing crowns and crystals.
Come on OOO, get your head in the game.

@Writhes
Short term success? Were all the current players who were making purchases calculated into that formula of yours? You see, they may gain more sales early on from this move but how many paying customers did they throw away in the beginning to then be able to say "look at the sales increasing." Don't forget they took away our purchased salable ce and purchased elevator passes and gave us a handful of crappy, bound orbs that were unsalable and unusable due to the heat/forge issues. I still have everyone they gave me and can't use them. And they took away the fun in the game while trying to take more money out of us. Like we'd be ripped of again by them. So once they kicked all of their paying customers out, they then got to say, (in Nick's words) "after the dust settles" this is how many sales we made today. This is how many tomorrow. Was it really an increase? Or was it ego and more like they did what they did because they wanted to and could, f us. They basically throw away every paying customer to get more money out of the non-payers.
I have already stopped playing the game. Will someone send me an email when they put the fun back in and stop trying to take back every crown we earn through sk scams?

Wow... Dat hate man...
I'm not sure to be impressed or depressed by how hard players try and will continue to try to hate OOO.

Have you forgotten that radiant crystals can be downgraded to obtain even more shining. Your post would suggest otherwise but people could have potentially had access to more shining crystals if they were still farming radiant instead.

Yeah except that it costs a ton to downgrade any notable amount of Radiant Fire Crystals.
did u try a danger mission?
