I was on an arena at the third depth of the repeatable apocrea prestige mission, when every 8-11 seconds it would freeze for a second, until it finally stopped responding except for drawing the mouse cursor when my party went down to the fourth depth (obviously I was dead by then). The cpu usage went from 100, gradually and spiking, to 189% (I have two cpus.) I started up a second client which tried to load the mission but went to haven instead, ran skill -STOP, gcore, and skill -CONT for that to finish. It did not respond to kill, but to kill -9.

[SOLVED] core dump of runaway cpu
The problem still exists, this time it was freezing about for a second with three seconds in between. It was only doing this during the second floor of ghosts in the machine, not the first floor or in haven afterward.
A bug that I think is a snowball effect: The first two waves of the boss showed with a closed vent while my teammates were attacking it. The third wave showed with an open vent the whole time.
Screenshot included (minus one window) showing the secondary bug, and top showing cpu usage at the moment.

I should probably record one long video from starting the program to the first time I see the bug... I wonder if I can start it in gdb and/or valgrind? Or a profiler?
Spiral Knights will use all processor cores if You force it. I noticed performance boost with it. I tryed to play without it and got freezes everytime when monsters are spawning (I have Intel Core i7). :/
I actually had a different problem, one in which a core dump probably wouldn't show anything.

It's impossible, game doesn't use more than 1 core, it uses one thread as much as it possible, other threads use about 1-2% of cpu.
