My apprentice would be an apprentice who just sits there on the bed at the guild hall and does absolutely nothing productive.

My appentrice {/cough} apprentices.

My apprentice would be gone in seconds. Why? He would in the future, become a Chaos Clone and part time Vog Cub. He'd charge at a Trojan with his proto sword and attack it's shield. He would take a face plant while I Blitz the Trojan killing it instantly. The apprentice would then shout "WHAT THE HAX!?!?!?! Swords in this game SUCK! Guns too op!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then he would log off for an eternity and leave me.

So I'd go find a new one. This apprentice would be a future Chaos Clone and part time Skolver. He would beg me to take him to the wondrous, heavenly place called Fire Storm Citadel. I would invite him before I got to Vanaduke someday to show him what it was like. Once we started the fight he would run in wearing his new wolver gear and yell "Woof woof!" then get a mace to the face. He would scream in rage that his cutter didn't 1 hit kill Vanaduke and watch as my Blitz Needle removes Vana's health in seconds. Then he'd yell "WHAT THE HAX!?!?!?! Swords in this game SUCK! Guns too op!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then he would log of for an eternity and leave me, like the last guy.

FINALY! I would get another apprentice! This would be a future Mercurial Demo and part time Valcanic Plate Guardian. He would quickly master the art of bombing and become a professional shard slinger and haze hexer. He would become the king of nitrodoming, and learn how to defend, and not destroy, by using an Iron Tech Destroyer. Then at long last him and I would face our ultimate challage: Darkfire Vanaduke. He would begin exploding Vana's mask off while I began to Blitz him. He'd notice my Blitz charge dealt more damage than his Shivermist Spammer and scream "WHAT THE HAX!?!?!?! Bombs in this game SUCK! Guns too op!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Then he would also leave me behind and never return after all he had learned.

/me sheds a single tear...

A young Knight who is expecting to get into a world of hurt and lag when training with me.

While trying to keep up with me because of his/her slow attack speed.

Error: Axe Required For Process

*tape begins partway*

Your question has too many variables dependant on life going in a particular order. It's far more likely I'll not have an apprentice at all.

However, if I were to have an apprentice, I'd not let them into my workshop without knowing they shared my passion for mechanics.Past that, a person's personality is their own-- all I'd require of someone is the will to learn and the devotion to hear what I'd have to say. I wouldn't care if my student were a Gremlin outcast, nor a ghost of Moorcroft, nor one of the strangers that we live beside here in Haven. I've no interest in traits with no relevance to the matter, which in this case would simply be whether they could handle the task of learning.

...

Of course combat is a part of it. But it is nowhere near as important as the intellectual side of things... this is about the sort of person I'd accept as an apprentice, not the requirements to delve the depths of the Clockworks. Stick to one question, for Skylark's sake. If my apprentice were an incompetant fighter, I'd work with them to improve in this, and find what manner of combat they excelled at. I personally have a great deal of skill in both ranged and melee weapons, with emphasis on guns and the art of evasion. But if my apprentice were more gifted in bombing, for example, I would do my utmost to incorporate my skills and experience into a context that works well with that method. Bombers require evasion skills as well, perhaps even more so than Gunners, you see?

That's all? Very well, good day to you.

*tape ends*

I want to have someone like Asoka Tannos, you know, the chick from Star wars: the clone wars cartoon series? Smart, quick learning and drak skinned, what more to say (sry, I have fetishes for that kind of thing)? A nice swrod fighter, get enemies' attention while I spam away my trollaris. Young, nice looking, when she is around, I will always feel like a pimp. Delighted and respectaful, because the last thing I wanted from my padwan, ugh, I mean my apprenitce to do is to kill me in order to prove that she/he is better than me. (Siths are stupid, and may the force be with you. :3)

@Draycos, well, you can atleast teach him a few words... if you know what I mean >:) (FUS DO RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

WELL...

I guess I don't have to imagine, I actually did have 2 people in game directly calling themselves my "apprentice" so much to the point they would argue about who would actually BE my apprentice, it was kind of strange, but also funny.

This happening because these 2 were among the few people I've actually seen to take a real, serious interest in something I've always enjoyed doing.

Yes, it actually did happen, and I say this believing currently that both have since stopped playing the game entirely. It is quite possible to have a real "apprentice" but obviously not everyone jumps into the game with any mindset of the sort, but if you have progressed enough and can find those rare few...it's possible to be able to have your very own "apprentice" within this incredibly simple game.

Personally..

Mine would look like a little fluffy cat that would follow float around me and fire a laser at the monsters that come mobbing toward me. I dunno maybe one day I'll get another apprentice that looks like a little ghost cow, or a dragon.

I think having a little pet flying around is more fun than having another knight trailing you... Expect for the fact that they eat a lot of your mats... and CR...
They're lovable and quite adorable in the end. :)

Well ...

If I remember what I was like when I started the game, any apprentice of mine would probably be absolutely wide-eyed amazed at everything. He'd want every piece of gear and feel awed when a highly experienced player came near. I tend to doubt the more experienced me telling him that things really aren't that amazing would tamp down his enthusiasm. At least he'd be a hard worker, if not particularly brilliant with his crowns.

Actually, to be perfectly honest my apprentice would probably just be someone who knows when to shut up.

One that listens to advice, dies less frequently the longer they run with me and has my back in the process.

And possibly wants my Knight's V because she's as feminine as I can make her. All I need is Vertical Vents kek

I do a lot of mentorship, at least for knowledge for randoms

As of now, I'll try my best to help knights out if they need it, as long as they're willing to pick themselves up when they fall.

But if I could have an apprentice myself, I'd love to either have a tall angelic-wearing knight who goes above and beyond what I teach them, or a month-old recon knight prepared to take on whatever dangers are thrown our way. An angelic apprentice would follow my steps, learn how to avoid fire at all costs, and we would crush those that lie in our way. After months of training, failures, successes, and great times, we would run a final test through a sinful city. Near the end, they'll shield bash a trojan winding up to hit me as I reload my gun, and barely make it out of that situation unharmed. I'd offer them a heart pendant, and give them a short hug before saying thank you, and telling them they are now ready to take on all monsters in the clockworks, and that it is time now for them to pass on that knowledge. I salute them one last time as they stand on the elevator, and shed a tear of pride as they return to haven. I would remain in the sinful city for another hour before heading up myself, but I would know, in my heart, that my apprentice was helping others too, and that we would meet again in a place neither of us would expect.

I didn't expect that story to come out of me. I guess there's no harm in talking about a dream world.

Oh, it would be wonderful. He'd have his own gunslinger sash and hat, an Antigua of his own, and I'll teach him the art of shoot-facing.
Then one day, I'll find a flourish under his bed. Then there will be awkward silence at the dinner table.

Oh what fun.

It was early morning in Haven. The sun had just barely peeked over the horizon, a bright orange glow coloring the clouds. The streets of Haven lay forlorn, with only the occasional snipe hovering overhead. Even the Auction House, usually bustling with knights craning to get their bid in, was empty. It seemed on this particular morning, everyone felt that it was a day to sleep in. Just relax in your warm bed, wrapped in your blanket, and just cram in that last hour of sleep.

Well, not everyone. One particular knight was already completely awake, now sitting up in her bed, tapping away on her Spiral Netbook. The clicking sound of her netbook was sharp against the fragile silence of her guild hall.

Moogaffy, or Mee-Moo as her guildmates liked to call her, stared intently at the screen. She always kept up to date with news around Haven, from a rare item appearing on the Auction House, to another Recon Ranger not returning from the field, to new fashion trends. Whatever it was, she got it.

As she was scrolling through the news feed on the Spiral Order's website, one thing in particular caught her eye. It was a forum thread, about one day old. She glanced at the title of the thread, and read out loud, "If you had an apprentice, who do you think that apprentice would be like?"

"Interesting question." She thought. "If I did have an apprentice, who would he be like?"

She thought for a moment. She flipped through her mind, thinking of the traits that seemed to click with her...

An idea popped into her mind, and she began to type.

'If I had an apprentice, I imagine a knight, a tall knight who is hardworking, determined, and is willing to follow me at every step. Oh the adventures we would have...
We would train together, sometimes for hours on end. I would teach him the art of dodging fire, avoiding dangers, and gracefulness. Then one day, we would go together, deep into the Clockworks, where he would put everything he has ever learned to the test. We would pass through a ruined kingdom, where fire was eternal, where the heat was almost unbearable. We would crush all the opposition, us having each other's back. We would never lose sight of each other, sticking together in every room.
Eventually, we would make it to the final room, where the Lord of this kingdom stands, solemnly. I would turn to my apprentice, and see him with his back arched, gun raised. Him in this position, with such bravery, would be a sight I would remember for the rest of my life. I turn back to the field, just in time to see the ruler of this kingdom turn. He would swing his mace down, and the battle would begin. We would fight in perfect sync, covering each other's blind spot, rushing in to protect the other from an unnoticed enemy. We would be on the path of victory.
At the end, the Lord would be kneeling on one knee, in a position of submission. But no, he would not be finished. He would take one of us down, even at the cost of his life. I raise my own gun, ready to end his life. All of a sudden, the Lord would swing his mace at me. I would barely have enough time to turn and look, before he would crush me and end my life. I close my eyes, and prepare for death.
But it would not come. I would open my eyes, and see my apprentice standing above me, his gun smoking from the volley of bullets he fired. He would help me up, and embrace me, thankful that I was unhurt. I would hug him back. He had saved my life, and I would be eternally thankful. I look up at his eyes, and our eyes would lock. Then, our lips would meet, in a fiery kiss, as hot at the room around us...'

"Hey Mee-Moo, what are you doing?"

"Bwagh!!!" Mee-Moo jumped in surprise, almost jumping out of bed. Panicked, she slammed her netbook shut. "N-nothing!"

"Oh, alright then." She watched as one of her guild members walked out of the room. She exhaled in relief, and opened her netbook again. She stared at the lengthy passage she had just typed. She sighed.

"Oh, how I wish you were real..." Then she closed her netbook again, and climbed out of bed.
