Just because I joined like 72 hours after the Beta ended does not mean I didn't quit for 6 months while I was still 0* (long story. not important now)

  1. What is with Njthug and 69?
  2. Why is LockDown so bad? (already know. just for lolz)
  3. What is Nick's #10 in SK trivia?
  4. Why is Nick's mustache so fwuffy and cwuddly?
  5. Why does no one switch to Supernova for monsters that resist Elemental and/or shock?
  6. Why do people have the audacity to post spoilers? (I have 2 accurate theories which probably answer. But I just wanna make sure)
  7. Why are there people above 18+ that play SK? (No offense. But a real curiosity)
  8. Why do most people obsess over the Iron Slug buff and anything else the devs promised?
  9. Why do people use the SwiftStrike thingy when they're already freaking rich as freak? (obvious)

You see that? That is a SURFBOARD WAVE!

Let me answer some of them:
2. Because Ezho, and other LDers are always there to keep you "company"

3. Is that the Old Loading Screen for SK, there is a rotating giant mechanical ball with glowing lights. Therefore, one can conclude a whole level can fit in one of these balls. There is also rotating gears around it too. Therefore one can assume that it represents a sky islands level, and the gears control the artificial moon and sun.

4. Because he gets Eurydice to clean it for him.

5. Because you have a second weapon slot. Use it.

7. Because of their free time. XD Or maybe they need to exit the real world for a while to relieve stress from work, wife, husband, kids.....

8. So they can finally see a weapon get evenly matched with their counterpart, like Supernova and Polaris.

9. Free UV that is not a UV.

Why do adults play spiral knights?

It doesn't matter how old you are - you can still love to play video games! This applies to all video games. Just because you're older doesn't mean you can't like a cute game that makes you feel good - from your past posts, I can only assume you watch a certain cartoon that is known to make certain people from all age groups feel good despite having a target audience much different. Not to the same level as those fans, but Spiral Knights maintains a similar appeal.

I'm not 18+ but..

From what I know from friends, they started playing when they were in high school, (so when they were around out age 16ish), and then when they got to college (now) they continued to play since they have a lot of free time in between classes. They also use it as a small break from studying and such :)

Q. What is with Njthug and 69?
A. Don't even get me started about that...

Phrases that include terms against the forum rules but have nothing to do with the original meaning? Totally inappropriate.
Direct references to sexual positions as a signature? A-OK

Q. What is Nick's #10 in SK trivia?
A. Never actually told to us, and for all I care non-existent. Maybe I already know about it. Why worry?

Q. Why does no one switch to Supernova for monsters that resist Elemental and/or shock?
A. Because it deals normal damage. If it were shadow, it'd fulfill the one other damage type that isn't piercing.

Q. Why do people have the audacity to post spoilers? (I have 2 accurate theories which probably answer. But I just wanna make sure)
A. Probably because they don't know not to.

Q. Why are there people above 18+ that play SK? (No offense. But a real curiosity)
A. Because life sucks and hiding out playing SK is fun.

Q. Why do most people obsess over the Iron Slug buff and anything else the devs promised?
A. Because we're expecting a buff and it doesn't come.... and its like "hey wait a minute... didn't you say slug would get buffed???"

Q. Why do people use the SwiftStrike thingy when they're already freaking rich as freak? (obvious)
A. Because they don't need a full shield and would rather play like a glass cannon.

2) Currently, LD is unbalanced as hell.
3) You'll probably find out soon. (Maybe he'll tell us in 10 years. ._.)
4) Wat?
5) Supernova deals normal damage and nobody really uses it, especially at close-range.
6) There are idiots who don't read the rules, especially the part in the "DO NOT" section about spoilers.
7) Fehzor's response for question 7.
8) Fehzor's response for question 8.

1. My Boss, and the number after 68.
2. Better question to ask is why isnt it so bad? Youd have narrowed down set of answers then.
3. Nick's #10. In SK Trivia. Is... *Static*...
4. Because its washed in the tears of orphaned chromas every day :3
5. Its like asking someone to switch to a Callahan for pierce. People are lazy and wanna be Leet.
6. Because theyre ignorant jerks?
7. I find its a nice art style, game-play wise its interesting to for-go levels (kinda). And I like the dungeon crawlish aspect.
8. People want to be Hipsters, but not die in the process.
9. Same reason people use chaos instead of every other 5* set. A good offense is a good offense, and thats all that seems to matter.

ME NEXT! ME NEXT!

1.Coffee? Drugs of Caribbean origin perhaps? Not like i know everyone here, you know... not even sure who they are.

2.Because skolver clones, jemps, and lag. Hear that? No argument. NONE!!!!

3.The one where he told us nothing? Not sure... perhaps that this guy http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2012/073/7/f/warmaster_seerus_by_siege... is in essence, a lot like this guy http://images.wikia.com/villains/images/4/4d/Masked_Dedede.png? No, cant be... not everyone sees that, certainly not every day... um
that is...
perhaps...
i...
... crap.

5. Well, you see, nick is cannibalistic... specifically, toward green jellies (why they aren't in anymore: he hid them from us to same them for himself. true story). These jellies are primarily composed of crappy, cheap hair gel, hence the green color and inability to be molded whatsoever. This obviously cannot be removed, just as it can't be tamed, so he leaves it to dry, forming a nice, bright, shiny, plastic-like coating.

6. Silly... everyone knows the next step is to switch to blitz. What's that? if that doesn't work? Um... hold on... know i have this one...um... um...

...

well don't just stand there, give me a hint!! Why do you ask these hard questions?!?!

7. SPOILERS! How absurd! I mean, who on cradle could possibly find it in them to tell people about how you can't enter the core yet? And how the gremlins plot to destroy haven wit roarmulus, ugh, i would hate it if i had that as a spoiler. And when feron can't even man up to join you against seerus, oh gosh, i never would have set foot in OCH if i had seen that i would be in that alone. And if i had known that all that vanguard got me was a stupid t-shirt, UGH! Would have definitely had me doing less in the game, and made it much harder to enjoy some of the longest parts. Why someone would talk about things like the fact that arkus dies?

No idea. None. Who would do that?

8. Look around ye! As bugged as it could be, with some of the worst server hosting in a game you'll ever know of, and with such a blind eye turned to balance; it is really something special, and not in any bad way, either. It is really unique... the art, marvelous work, hearkens to the chibi anime artistry style. The great community, well, ok... not always great... but at least it is always lively around here. The gameplay when it isn't laggy really holds something to it; a certain feel and rhythm not many third person shooters/hack-n-slashes, MMORPGS, or any other games can really bring out... the feeling that makes it fun, and something you bear through the crap fps (which has dropped as low as 20-8 on bad server days) for. I truly like it, and can say that anyone who could enjoy that would certainly bother to hit that free download button on steam, wether they be 6 or 45.

9. Becuase they want to know when it is finally socially acceptable to escape the trap, embryotic player form that is the skolver clone.

10. Silly pleb, defense doesn't matter here. What matters is how high damage your Gran Faust can be before you are banned for hacking... that is ALWAYS top priority NO MATTER HOW UNORIGINAL, COPY MACHINE GENERATED, AND EASILY REPLACED YOU ARE!

  1. 69! (prononuced sixty-nine factorial) is the point where you average calculator capable of factorials will break from the resulting number just being too big. When Njthug says <69, he is reminding you to keep your factorials below 69 so as to keep your calculator in working order.

    Safety first, kids!

  2. Some people have the advantage of AT, which stands for "All the Time (to play this game)". AT allows people to grind up humongous amounts of crowns to spend on better equipment than their opponent. A lot of people see this as unfair, and would like for people who cannot spend as much time on SK to have a way to be evenly matched with those who do. Thankfully, we have a lock-on button that can help close this gap.
  3. He's dating your mother. Everyone knew about it except you. I'm really sorry to break it like this.
  4. It's groomed as such because your mother prefers it that way.
  5. I imagine it's because they don't have Supernova in their inventory.
  6. I don't use Audacity to post spoilers. All I do with it is mix soundtracks into my videos and resample sound effects for my videogames. I can't think of anyone using Audacity to post spoilers, actually.
  7. Because they prefer it to other videogames.
  8. We feel bad for Iron Slug because he was condemned since birth. See, Solid Snake and Iron Slug are genetical twins, clones from Naked Snake. Solid Snake got all the dominant genes, Liquid Snake got all the recessive genes, and Iron Slug got all the excessive chromosomes. It's really pitiful.
  9. Because rich people can afford a steady supply of heart pendants and sparks of life, and as such they don't really care how much they get hit.

When you're this swag this world just bows at your knees

Being completely factual like the boring person I am:

  1. Fehzor covered it
  2. Heart trinkets. That and the fact that people are oblivious to how effective one can use bombs to counter swords (but no-one wants to go bombs because bombs are boring, or something???) and how people would rather kill than cap (seriously, we need a humiliation round where the winning team can enter the opponents spawn and kill them. I wonder if that would drive people to play the objective more)
  3. No-one knows, he says he might reveal it in the future
  4. my.moustache.fluffyness = maximum
  5. Because very few people even own a Supernova (I do though)
  6. It's moreso overjoyment, and complete obliviousness to the forum rules.
  7. Are you telling me as soon as you turn 18, you're supposed to instantly lose all interest in games A, B, C, through Z?
  8. Because they promised, therefore it must be absolute hard fact, and will happen.
  9. Swiftstrike buckler has nothing to do with fortune. It has to do with the game rewarding offense more than defense.

.................I'm not going to explain it or even tell you to google it because our strangely robotic overlords wouldn't be pleased with me if I did that, but I've done this thing and its good fun. That being said, I don't go around shoving "69" or anything else dirty into people's faces, except for when its 4am and I'm feeling depressed and that's on accident. Regardless of whether it is considered somehow to be "OK", its completely off topic, and is kind of blatantly trollish when people do that. Kind of like when people go onto minecraft servers and build large statues of genitalia on the main world, for all to behold.

If a public mandate lets me go naked in public, should I immediately take advantage of this to make people uncomfortable? And if I give the police cookies will they be cool with it? "Om nom nom, she's not technically breaking the law, so I don't see why she shouldn't go around doing this nom nom."

Why do YOU think people do it?

When you're this swag this world just bows at your knees

Essentially, you can reference whatever you like on the forums, but as long as you do not explicitly state it or use banned words, there's no problem with it (because no-one will know what you're talking about unless they actually know what it was before coming to the forums in which all you're doing is reminding them about it.) It's their fault for knowing what it was in the first place, or googling it. Common sense is "beware what you google, you may not like what you find". (My friend once told me to image search a certain 4-letter word that is a slang term for coprophilia. The images are burnt into my brain permanently)

An example is if I quoted a line from an Eminem song, where somewhere else in the song there was swearing. I'm not stating the swearing myself, but if you look it up (or know previously from the song) then you'll find swearing. That's your fault for finding that swearing, this site only protects you from obscene content while you remain on this site. The mods can't control what happens in the rest of the internet.
Another example is my signature. It's a subtle reference to something obscene, but am I wrong if it reminds you of it? If you are easily offended, you never should have played that game in the first place.

On the internet, curiosity will spell your demise, while the ignorant will live in peace.

5. Because Supernova sucks. And not everyone owns both a Supernova and a Polaris. And even if they did, they wouldn't want to keep both families of the pulsars in their loadout.

Why are there people above 18+ that play SK? (No offense. But a real curiosity)

It's funny how kids think that when you become adult you stop playing video games... You know... It's not because you have kids, a wife (or husband), work and is tired as **** that we can't play video games...

A lot of professionnal gamer are over 18 years of age... And most kids game are really fun to play, I bought Kirby Air Ride 2 years ago, a game made for 7 year old but it's so funn! And I got it cheap ^ ^

Fehzor's picture

A word is considered bad if it has any curse word inside of it. This includes many words that do not have a negative connotation towards a person- in fact, two of the words I got in trouble for fall under this category. I wasn't explicitly attacking anyone with either of them. I asked the GMs about the 69 thing in a support ticket-

"Why isn't referencing to 69/sex/those kinds of things against the rules?"

"Please note that we have to draw a line somewhere so there may be words you think are questionable that we don't take action on unless [they're] used in an inappropriate way. These words are something that you'll want to avoid using in an inappropriate context. This is different than the words Aprhodite linked to which should always be filtered (avoided)." -Cronus

Basically, its up to their discretion and we cannot possibly hope to understand why the line is drawn where it is drawn, but we are still to be held accountable for understanding exactly where this line is. Talking to support was incredibly frustrating- I ask questions, and get official sounding responses that don't actually answer anything. Then they lock the discussion as if they've actually helped me in some way. And they had typos in it! That "[they're]" was originally a "their"... its like, its their job to act professionally, but they don't hold themselves to the same standards of never failing that they hold us to? Like, come on... I'll probably get banned for "shaming" or something now, even though this is exactly how I feel about it and I'm not just trying to commit libel against them. I mean, they do a WONDERFUL job in game- they have yet to fail at fixing a stuck knight, or reloading a level and I'm sure they're all wonderful people, but when it comes to regulating the forums, many of their decisions are questionable at best.

"A word is considered bad if it has any curse word inside of it. This includes many words that do not have a negative connotation towards a person"

Yes, for example:

My teacher likes to derail the lesson with random stories. One day we brought up saying the word "fudge". She said, she said that because fudge is hard to make and it's tough to stir and stuff like that. And so a little girl heard her say, "Fudge!" (When she meant nothing by it) And the girl replied, "OoooOoOOooh, I know what you mean instead of that!" And so she has to stop saying that. Not that her alternative is any better. I may have missheard her, but she now says, "Cussabucket!" And instead of female dog, her family says, "YOU'RE A MEANER!" And now the word "meaner" is banned within her household. So yeah, a word is considered bad by it's meaning. "Duck" could mean "pie". And "pie" could be a curse word.

Oopsies, I may have derailed this thread. Maybe I should answer some of your questions.

1. Discussed too much.
2. Lockdown is just unbalanced, and so is its community.
3. No idea.
4. Because he conditions. Duh.
5. Same reason nobody uses the Nova Driver, except for being a hipster.
6. I'm using Zeddy's answer.
7. Has been discussed.
8. Pssh, I'm not a gunner. But I think if the Iron Slug should be buffed, so should the Nova Driver and the Supernova, and whatever hipster weapons exist.
9. I don't think being "rich" matters in this, it's just a 3* weapon. However, it is a nice looking shield and a nice ASI upgrade. I could never rock it though, only carrying no sparks.

There is nothing wrong with teenagers; I was not trying to imply that there is. Sometimes I just get annoyed at all the age categories that get used to describe people and how the terms are often used as if they are completely different and separate from one another. Yes, I do understand and recognize the differences between a child and a teen, yet, to me, a teen is still technically a child. I totally understand why teenagers do not want to be viewed as kids. I guess I just reached a point where I began to view myself as a kid still.

I think it's considered inappropriate if not illegal if anyone were to write <69 to someone who is 13-14 years old or so and those people are around and very much permitted to by the Terms of Service.
