My controller has been broken, and so is my phone so luckily for you guys, you won't really be hearing my crap that much anymore. I'll still be logged on, but I won't be exploring. Well.
It's usually whatever your comfort level is with whatever interface you are using. He's probably been using a controller for awhile, so going back to a mouse/keyboard would be pretty weird for him to readjust to.
