Corny is pretty good, and I
Corny is pretty good, and I played some fun matches with Silpheus today, too. Smashgear, Dothackerduo, Damon-Drake, and Espira (pure gunner) are also fun players to go up against.
I'm pretty terrible, so if you ever face me, please go easy!

There are some strikers that have mastered the art of strike-weave-strike-weave-strike weave that I can't beat - I think Anly is one of them, though there are others

I think there should be two
I think there should be two categories: People who take the generic optimized loadout and dominate with it over and above others with the same gear (snarby/flourish w/wolver), and people who buck the trend by going with oddball gear sets and still make a good show of it (like pure gunners or *cough* bombers).
There's certainly a laundry list of people who I know are gonna poke me full of holes when I see them on the other team. I'd name some, but I'd be forgetting to mention too many others.

There were some amazing
There were some amazing players on yesterday, hard to pick when the bar is so high but one stood out:
Was against edit: Ruby. He was utterly annihilating our team until I got a Gran Faust combo off in his face and I heard him go *pwong* to energy revive. I decided "Ohohoho, a challenge!" and started energy reviving too, meeting him many times in the lower lanes.
It was the most fun lockdown game I've ever played, and though he was better and up against half my team it seemed to be pretty equal in deaths. Only after the match ended did I notice he did something around 28,5k damage, more than double mine. Apparently the other half of my team made a comeback in the rest of the map and we lasted nearly the entire time limit.
Br-Girl and Blue[something, flood?] are some of the best gunners I've come up against. I suck at remembering names.
Edit: boy when I say I suck at remembering names I wasn't kidding!

Feller is right at the top of
Feller is right at the top of the list. He made me ragequit today, I think. Jaroche springs to mind, as he was my nemesis for a few days there.
My choices usually coincide with disuse of spawncamping. CE res, autoaim, full skolver, VT, btb...any of that is fine for me. It's the spawncamping that gets my goat, and I'm a VT capcamper.

I"m not sure if I spelled it correctly, but Sciaz(Again, I apologize if I misspelled it.) ripped my whole team a new one. Seriously, around five players(They were probably weaken from other attacks, but meh.) went up against him at the same time and they all died. His Flourish rip through my Guardian sheild, and I died quickly after. I don't even think he died much either.
I swear, he must have some sort of ASI boost or something. >.<

GF does shadow and normal, so sheilds defend it 50%
Flourish does only peircing, so sheilds defend it 25%

Sciasz is an absolute terror.
Rubyeclipse made me stop playing Lockdown and play Blast Network instead for like a week I was so traumatized.
I remember Kreuz-Drache being pretty solid on T1 and getting really annoyed or very hopeful depending if he was on my team or not.

I played Tier 3 for the first
I played Tier 3 for the first time and got destroyed by a knight named Dyouria (probably not even close). He spammed his freeze gun thingy until I got stuck in place, then snuck around me while I was flailing about, charged up his Divine Avenger, and wiped out all of my health bars in a matter of seconds.
I haven't played against a lot of "good" people, but that guy had a good tactic when matching noobs one on one. :(

Well, you could try T2/T1 lockdown. :P It's a little less ridiculous in the lower tiers.

Freezingflame is also very good, as well as Vinrules. Vin gets a bit predictable though if you play enough matches with him.

I ve seen a few players with similar setup and started to level a Final flourish. I find its first attack much better than BTB in LD...Didnt test much as I got all my coins...
Do is make any difference if the weapon is Level 1 or 10 ?

Yeah, heating up your gear counts for PvP.
Did a T2 game took a long time to load up? Cause I heard that T2 was just as popular as T3. (I can see you complaining about T1 though, its usually only popular during the evenings or weekends, and even then it's hard to get people to stick with it.)

Maybe that's it....I dunno. I know heating up does matter, cause I get more health in a game of lockdown with higher heated armor, than without. Not to mention I noticed faster attacking speeds too.
Maybe the other players have "Full Inspect" off? That usually causes the gear to appear to be level one.

I'm not entirely sure there is a best player because of all the non-skill related factors affecting Spiral Knights and Lockdown in particular. Out of the very few matches I've played, and through my constant whining and moaning about HERP DERP THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE HIT ME I'M LAGGING DURRR, Vlad seems pretty good. Played against him, it was fun going Striker vs. Striker. Minus my two bars of connection at least. xP We were pretty even, I remember. Shidara is a pretty good Striker, too.
I haven't played Lockdown much so I'm sure there's quite a few people I've yet to face. I don't recognize a lot of the people everyone's mentioned here.

Down in Tier 2, there's
Down in Tier 2, there's always a good swath of players who will always noticably stand out above the rest. The variability of it all means that choosing one, or even three, or even FIVE is hard, but you always notice those who stand out, and its always those that you end up watching out for, both on the field to steel yourself for a tough fight, and off the field beforehand to make a prediction on how the match is going to go.
Just a MYRIAD FEW of the names that have stuck out to me over time:
-Blueberrymuffin (striker)
-Brianfayt (striker)
-Dopplor (striker/recon)
-Hiddenskye (guardian)
-Krysophylax (recon)
-Quetzoghanddr (guardian)
-Luckytechie (striker)
-Markano (striker)
-Maydiee (guardian)
-Nicoya-Kitty (recon/)
-Skullerdan (striker)
-Skybrandon (striker)
-Snubear (striker)
-Wittowowns (guardian)
-Xenokidd (striker)
The preponderance of dusker-barbers bothers me, though its not nearly as bad as the thorn/faust mono-culture that seems to exist in tier 3.
But those are just a few of the MANY good players out there - in time I'm sure there'll be more.

There are lots of players who have impressed me. One in particular that is burnt into my mind is Feller though. He is the embodiment of everything a good Striker should be.
