So multiboxing and general mist alt usage is one of those arcane bits of Spiral Knights that's generally discussed in hushed voices, and only practiced by a few adventurous souls. Personally I think it's a really fun technique for mid to end-game players to mess around with and breathe new life into old content.

In order to demystify things a little, I put together a video of me multiboxing snarby:

I only used one alt in the video for the sake of keeping things moving and because I haven't actually created any others, but it'd certainly be easily doable with a full load of three alts. Roarmulus should be fairly easy to do with three alts all the way up through the boss fight, and RJP might get a little sketchy on the boss fight depending on what your gear is. Doing FSC with three dead alts would be quite the challenge, and I would be happy to see someone else attempt it.

Shameful admittance

I, shamefully admit that with this account and my steam account, have done IMF a few times multiboxing, because double the tokens really speeds up getting the rewards, and at the end of the day I only saved 100 energy, so in retrospect this isn't totally illegal IMO, it's just a touchy subject

I was always understood multiboxing is normally playing a couple of chars at the same time. As in you press one key all chars do the same action. What you are doing is more of just playing 2 chars at the same time.

Was fun to watch though, wanna see you do higher stuff :)

Normal snarby runs for 4-5k correct? So the combination of the coins is about 10k? Also not to metion if there is an item drop, you can receive it wether or not it goes to the alt aswell. The problem with tier 2 runs is that you could possible have a death, due to the fact enemies will be slightly tougher than solo. Though the pay out is greater (about 14k) and if you have a elevator pass like you metioned , it makes it all just as sweet.

@Vtmoon I don't think that type of multiboxing would actually work well in SK. You wouldn't get very far from the elevator before one of your chars gets out of sync with the other and ends up flailing around uselessly away from the other. The GMs also decided that that sort of multiboxing was not permitted, while the corpse-dragging sort is allowed so long as you're not exploiting to get around mist/account limitations (that is, no more than one account should be unpaid).

@Sawkush I just went back and checked the video, and it looks like a snarby run, counting just the 3 boss levels, nets about 1800cr in raw coins. Conveniently I start the video at almost exactly 10,000 and end at 11800. If you add 75cr per token vendoring the gear that gets you to about 2k. I think 3k for the entire tier would be a reasonable estimate depending of course on what levels you hit in S1.

4-5k is more in line with RJP or IMF, with 7-8k for FSC.

I might do RJP and IMF multibox videos if there's some interest in seeing it. I don't think I'm quite up to multiboxing FSC, at least not the end of D27 and the boss fight (plus the boss fight would probably be an hour of me pea-shooting vana with my polaris, and nobody wants to sit through that).

Multibox with a full party

If you want we can come to some sort of arrangement where 2 people face off against a 4-players worth of pary, although it'd be restriced to T2 since my main is almost out of gear and my alt only has 3* stuff, but it'd still be fun to try before I vanish completely to my steam library until new content comes out, might even pull me into playing again.
