At this point largely everything's been said on both sides in regards to the upgrade-the-honor-stuff argument. Honestly I see no reason why we shouldn't be allowed to, but clearly some people disagree. The thing is, the argument that we shouldn't be complaining because we received free gear as a gift is fundamentally flawed in the sense that gifts can always be refused. In this case, anyone who is not particularly pleased with their inferior set of honor gear is stuck with it clogging up their inventory forever, with nothing to be done about it.
In my case, I just get really bitter looking at it, and, frankly, would rather have nothing than a mocking reminder of superior things that I will never be able to obtain. If there are to be no changes in regards to potential advancement of this gear, and it very much seems like there won't be at this point, then there's no point to any of the honor gear that is not of the highest grade (other than to potentially make people who have it feel bad). I don't think it's an unreasonable thing to ask for to give us the option to dispose of the items in some way, whether through direct deletion or through selling it to a vendor for some customary fee.
I appreciate the nature of the intended gift, but I don't think it can really be called a gift unless the option to turn it down exists.
You could have refused if you hadnt acepted the mail... the option did exist at somepoint.
