Graveyard this please and thank you. Snarb does the tracking *most of the time, however if it starts while you are at a distance it may just not track. It does track if you go up and hug it. The attack sequence is....occasionally messy and buggy, but oh well.

Sometimes it does things, sometimes it doesn't do them quite so much. verified with a few more runs. Graveyard this.

didn't patch Snarbolax?

The patch notes do not say that the Snarbolax level was patched. They just say that the Royal Jelly, Roarmulus Twins, and Vanaduke treasure rooms were patched.

Are you sure that what you're seeing is new behavior? Maybe it's just slightly different outcomes from an already buggy Snarbolax?

Edit: The Royal Jelly was nerfed in autumn 2011, when Shadow Lairs were introduced.

Just did a quick GWW run

I will agree, his tracking seemed off; after sidestepping the first bite, more often than not, he'd end up biting 3 times in the same direction without any tracking. This isn't to say he doesn't track at all, as occasionally the bite would still adjust towards my position.

However, the rest of the behavior you described seems to be Snarby being his usual buggy self:

  • I was still able to stun him while underground.
  • Snarby also performed his bite attack as regularly as I remember.

I did not check his HP but it seemed about what I seemed to recall he had previously.

Flowchart

if that's true, then they removed it a while ago.
I remember doing regular Snarby for the first time in a while and noting he didn't have the tracking cause I was too used to the Shadow one.

Lies

I got snarby to bite around me in a circle several times. Brought Striateds with me and we were both able to have it track us. Thread false? :P

Thread false 'aight. Tested it out, Snarb's still his Snarby-Loxy self.
