would a normal max uv on an ancient plate shield do anything? I know that status uvs don't stack on shields if the shield has max resist of that status but does it work the same way for damage type uv?

Pretty much what Fehzor said.
Most likely you'd only see about a 1% overall difference in damage. Not worth it. Piercing low is better.

Shadow and shock are probably the best UVs for an ancient plate shield, for the trojans.
I wonder if a stun max omega shell would hold up better than an ancient plate shield?

But...
We can't get statuses on ancient plate shields anymore.
Or at least last time I checked.
It should do SOMETHING, but I'm not sure if it'd be a huge effect at all.
