If been wondering if Ancient Plate Shield could be a good choice in some environment since I'm too lazy to make a Volcanic Plate and I have a spare 30 tokens. I'm a gunner with only a Grey Owlite as a 5* shield.
Is Ancient Plate Shield a viable choice?

Certain monsters deal only
Certain monsters deal only normal damage: gremlin thwakers and Trojans are the most common, Also many low tier monsters inflict only normal damage.
This shield could be useful in OCH but I would bring a volcanic plate shield as it is better.

As a gunner
I actually suggest swift strike. It gives an ASI which includes guns which is absolutely helpful. Plus it's 3* so it takes less resources to craft. As for taking damage, you're the gunner, so you would be farther away from monsters and avoiding damage that way.

Grey Owlite is better usually, and it's better to either buy a blackened crest and make it into a CoA, or just buy the ancient plate shield and sell it to a vendor.
