All MMOs die over time. This is obvious, I should hope.
The way SK is handled makes it happen a bit faster than normal. I know the remaining SK fanatics love being in denial, but activity charts aren't hard to get a hold of and they'll show you it's true.
By the way, since I haven't played in some time, when was the last time permanent new content was added? Promos and events do not qualify as permanent new content.

The last permanent content I can see was 2014-05-21, when the endings to numerous missions were changed, to advance the plot. But maybe you don't count that as content. It's pretty small, to be sure.
2013-10-16 was Arcade Redux part 1, including new pickups. But maybe you don't count that as content.
2013-07-30 was the mega-update that basically redesigned Spiral Knights, including battle sprites.
Yes, all MMOs will eventually die. But it's strange to me that fans of an MMO should actively propagandize for the death of their MMO on its forums.
