I just wanted to thank everyone for making shadow motes-orbs super cheap. I now have a level 75 Masterkaith for half the price it cost me to get a Drakon. You're lucky to find power motes for 500 crowns a piece. Shadow motes sell for 250 all the time.

Besides, stealth is so much better than that stupid fire ball. lol

is Drakon more popular than Maskeraith?

Is this because Drakon is more popular than Maskeraith? Is that in fact true? It's been a long time since I've tried to determine popularity.

Probably. I guess people just look and see, "OH A DRAGON!"

They don't realize what's really valuable in the game, and they end up learning the hard way that Drakon's attacks are practically useless. Even the shield is crap since you focus more on evasion than reducing damage.

You should check out material merchants like me.

If you are buying more than 10kcrn worth, I sell them at 160crns each.

Eh, each of them have their uses. I rarely use the stealth myself unless I'm speedrunning a stage.

The Seraph's shield can be used as a great big middle finger to spikes and brambles.

Also, Drakon is arguably the most useful if you're a pure bomber.

I usually use it when

I usually use it when approaching or escaping. It's generally a nice way to prevent the fight from getting too intense with too many bad guys around swinging at you and making it a pain to evade.

I mean you can't dash away, shield bump, shield bash, or charge swing all the time, you know? Sometimes, you just have to keep the bad guys from knowing you're there.

Addressing those who say Drakon is bad...

I will rub your faces into the ground right after I shoot the walls behind your backs with Drakon's explosive Firebolt, knocking you toward me.

Then I will proceed to shred you to pieces by comboing you with DVS, Scorching Fire Barrior (3 Orbs), and some other random consumable barrier. I've taken down Battlepods in one cycle doing this.

If there are enough of you, I'll make you all burn with Firestorm while buffing all my buddies. Even if you have Fire/Elemental/Shadow resistance, I can still buff my buddies.

For me, it's not a matter of choice. On the testing server, I tried the two other sprites. I hated them. Drakon is far more flexible. I have to combo to keep Quills effective. I have to kill to make Heart Attack effective. Hexing Haze is disruptive and causes too much screen shake. Ray of Light has to be too well planned to make it easy to use on a consistent basis.

Yes, I'll buy Seraphynx. No, I won't use it as much as Drakon. I rest my case.

algorithms are the solutions to any problem.

it all boils down to personal preference, which is great cause it means that the sprites are well balanced.

....

They all have their purposes

Drakon helps deal damage:
Firebolt adds a DPS status and possible a stun.
The Shield requires planning and makes berserker knights effective.
The Firestorm also adds a DPS and works well with teammates and a vortex. (great for clearing rooms)

_____

Seraphynx helps party survivability:
The Ray can shut down turrets and can debuff key targets (wrecks Vana Mask Phase)
The Heart attack is best dropped when most of the enemies are at 50% hp and not 100%, this can make fights easier, damaging statuses less punishing, and can buff team defense.
The Aura is good for many things, help in Bullet Hell situations, when you need a charge or shield boost (depends on ultimate), or when you just don't have the patience to wait for the trap to drop.

_____

Maskeraith is good for support:
The quills come with the benefits of poison with improved damage, it can even spread the debuff to other enemies with.
The Cloak can get you out of bad situations (run and collect seraphynx hearts or wait till Drakon drops that attack buff) and allows you to come back with a vengeance.
The Haze is good for spread damage and status, good for getting a nice sized hit on large amounts of enemies.
