its clear that they only drop in 'save winterfest" from grinchlin stalkers, but how do you do best farm for them?
I tried laying bombs when I get deathmarked, but I cant even find the damn bastards.

I'm not sure about the new map, but on the old map two-years ago, I'd just camp the middle with a Stagger and a friend or two. Every 30 seconds to a minute, my friends would run to either Imposto or the Present drop off point and then loop back. If they got deathmarked, I'd come over with the stagger. Rinse and repeat.

finally some semi-helpful response.
as good as that might work, the problem is that stagger is kinda rare. and I dont have one. I also dont have a shiver. all I have is a VT.
and with DBB I can place bombs pretty fast, but I just cant find a stalker no matter how hard I bomb when I get deathmarked. maybe DR is the answer?

VT and Shiver work just fine to find stalkers. The problem is VT/Shock doesnt do much to Gremlins, and Shiver doesn't do much to the fiends. Hence I go with Stagger (Also my stagger has a CTR low UV on it, ontop of being lvl 10).
I haven't tried DR. Although as I hinted at before, I like the Stagger because it slows down fiends, and DR ain't going to do much to the devilites and greavers that swarm you.

no luck
I just spent a good while on the new lvl. I had chaos, 3 bombs (DR, DBB, VT) and an acheron.
so I run to the middle, where the two grinchlins spawn. I get deathmarked pretty quick.
so I though that was a good idea to lay down some bombs. a couple minutes of spamming every bomb I had, I could not even FIND the stalker.
I cant see them. I cant find them. I cant interact with them. all proof of them is for me only anectdotal.
I therefore lack belief in the existence of grinchlin stalkers. you could call me an astalkerist. actually, dont, it sounds weird.

After running the new level a bit, I've never actually found the stalkers in the center room. They're always on the siderooms. If anything the new level is even better for farming stalkers because there is less space to cover, and you don't need to worry about stupid one-way doors 95% of the time.
Also, the drop rate is like 1/250-ish so it'll take some time. Two years ago, it took me a week straight of Humbug Head/Hat-Hunting and I only ended up finding 5 (2 of which I gave to the people who were helping me, and one we split the profits of).

I also bombed the hell out of the side rooms, after getting nowhere in the center.
there really are no stalkers. i dont know where they are, I dont know why they never show, but I know I cant find them.

I think I finally got it!
after some long trying around and restarting, I have figured a few things out.
first of all, the stalker deathmark radius is really big, which completely threw me off.
secondly, there are three spawn locations, which are located (from the middle room): to the right, to the left and to the top left.
I also devised an easy way to spot where a humbug has spawned, utilising their large deathmark radius.
just be in the middle room and walk from the top left corner of it in a rough circle. if you get deathmarked, move away from where you think the stalker might be. if you no longer get deathmarked, you found where it is.

some additional stuff
I also tried the old map for a bit. it seems far less efficient, but I didnt have much efficiency training on either.
here they can spawn either bottom left, bottom right or the middle. the best thing to do is probably start the lvl, run to the drop point, then restart.
I would also wait a little bit in each location, from what I have seen, they take a few seconds to spawn.
You've got to think about where Grinchlin Stalkers would hide. In fact, you should think like one! Where would you hide if were a Grinchlin Stalker? Under the bed? No, that's too predictable, they'd find you there! In the closet? There's no way out of there, it couldn't possible end well. In the South Korean embassy in Ghana, now that's a good idea!
