More Battlepods!

I feel that there are not enough battlepods. sure, they appear on missions and stuff, but i think they should also appear in the clockworks.

I propose that on each deconstruction zone in the clockworks, there is a small yet substantial chance that a battlepod will be located somewhere in the deconstruction zone. This would simply be a bonus of sorts, a normal battlepod, with a status aligned with the status of the decon zone (a fire based deconstruction zone would have a fire based battlepod), however, this would not change the level in any way, really. As with most if not all monsters found on deconstruction zones, you would not be required to fight the battlepod.

I like fighting battlepods, and hope that this suggestion will be accepted and implemented into the game.

opinions and comments are appreciated

algorithms are the solutions to any problem.

it's an ok idea, but battlepods are sort of like minibosses, and should have their own arena. that being said, adding a battlepod to deconstruction zones (and maybe construct arenas?) isn't a bad idea.

Oooo

Having a battlepod spawn instead of a giant lichen colony/trojan would be great for that arena beginning. Do it for gremlins too!

And having Battlepods in decon zones would be fine. They should be a requirement for the level however - it makes the game fresher than "run through the level for the elevator ASAP".

I'm not too sure about adding more battlepods
The ones with the breakable shields take absurdly long to kill if you're using magnuses(the shield regenerates .2 seconds after I break it) and the bubble shield ones arent a challenge, just a waiting game, it wont add much to the game other than a forced slowdown of your run

But for an arena I think it's a good idea, its a miniboss so it fits

Warning: Superiority Complex.

What Vohtarak The Oohnorak says. They take too long. Arena would be fine too I suppose...but...even then...would Danger Rooms not be the best place for it? A new Danger Room would always be fun.

well, you wouldn't have to worry about how long it takes if it were in a deconstruction zone, because you wouldn't be required to fight it

Ehh

Well if not a requirement at least have some motivation for taking the battlepod down other than the crowns it drops(in decon zones). Something like it drops a key or opens a gate to the "free" key would make it feel in-place there.

I would love to see more variety, but battlepods are boring and time consuming to fight. I would love to fight them in a train I would love to fight them in the rain if they dropped the shielding mechanic and made the fight more interesting somehow.

motivation. I can do that. there are a couple different motivation possibilities. Please give feedback on the following possible incentives for fighting the battlepod.

-Defeating the pod deactivates a gate that does not require a key, but is unlocked when battlepod is destroyed
-Defeating the battlepod will allow access to a gremlin mainframe (similar to the one found in hazardous heist) that gives a hint of information on the clockworks, the crimson nine or the gremlins
-upon defeat, the battlepod gives access to an area containing health boxes
-upon defeat, the battlepod gives access to an area containing a couple red boxes

Feedback pleeeeeeaaaasssee

Reward ones work

For it to lower a monster gate is fine. What's behind there can be changed however seems fit - the level's "free" key (i.e., one not locked behind a key door), boxes, minerals, or unpowered mecha knights.

The keys can already be locked behind a puzzle, and if you're looking for the key then you're likely looking for crowns, as speedrunners will just try to locate the exit. If you get the exit locked behind a key gate (which is rare), then lucky you, you get to fight a battlepod!

I think..

I think battle pods should provide more of a challenge by being a more of a fortress. Something like it having it's own mortar launcher that those mortar gremlins launch, or it having an autogun charge that it can move around its body to fire it from any location on it's body. Something like having it's own repair drones that it has a limited spawn of to use to repair it's body. Or having upon it's destruction spawn 8 robo knights that immediately shield bash the knight and starts hacking away at us. Or so many many more ways to make that mundane monster waaaay more interesting and have lost of different varieties.

ok, we don't know that seerus was killed, though it is likely, and blandaxt, the intention is to just have a regular battlepod have a chance to appear in the clockworks, with no requirement, but substantial incentive to fight it. what you are suggesting suggesting seems more like a miniboss. but, actually, it would be cool to fight a miniboss with the abilities that you described
