Is hexing haze duration buff bugged?

It doesn't seem to make a difference if I hit 4 enemies or if I hit 40 enemies, at max level if I hit more than 3 enemies it's always about 9-11 seconds. (Yeah yeah, it's not intended but that's how much I get.)

The bug is that weather I mark 4 targets, or 40 targets there is no difference in duration.

For some sort of real knowledge we would have to delve into the code of SK and that is against the TOS (or we could get a GM to respond to this thread). If it is indeed not working at all it would need to be reworked.

How do you know? Maybe the difference is just small. That was the point of my post #1.
You would have to do a pretty careful test, probably analyzing a video capture frame by frame, to determine that the duration was not increasing with the number of targets acquired. Have you done such a test?
I'm not trying to be argumentative, by the way. We just need to nail down whether it's actually a bug, before we complain about a bug.

Or perhaps it functions similar to boost pickups... where the timer resets upon every new target acquired.
Maybe the normal timer is 8 seconds and will get reset to 1 second if you acquire a target when the timer is less than 1 second left.

But if that's the case then it needs a major buff.
4 vs 40 targets having no noticeable difference (less than a second) sounds like a pretty big balance problem.

It's apparently working as intended.
According to Nick, you can "easily double its duration", which sounds impressive until you realize the initial duration is 5 seconds, and double is all you get. Also, the duration is perhaps doubled a bit too easily.

That's not skillful that's just dumb, why would it be capped? Might as well remove the increase duration feature and make it a flat bonus because it doesn't make an important difference in playstyles.
I thought risking coming close to multiple enemies would be rewarded with an absurd duration as long as you can stay alive and keep tagging enemies.
Its not an instant kill, and it takes plenty of time to hit so it wouldn't be OP, but it would still be effective enough to be worth it.
High risk high reward sort of thing.

@Sir-Pandabear: Thanks for that link! I added Nick & Zeddy's comments from that thread to the wiki.

I can answer with nothing but agreements. However, as far as balance problems with battle sprite abilities go, this one is pretty low.
I'd rather haunted haze dealt damage higher than the single digits.
Sorry, I'm not an expert on this, but where is the bug?
The description says that the duration increases with the number of hexed enemies. But it doesn't say how much it increases. Maybe the haze lasts 9 seconds plus 0.05 second for each target? That would be consistent with your observations.
