Freezing vaporizer+magnus?

I'm currently thinking about going shivermist buster+callahan/iron slug.
Would this work (freeze everything with bomb, then a magnus charge attack)?
And how about graviton/electron vortex?

I probably would want normal damage against everything, so I guess iron slug.
But my main question is: Is a freeze bomb good with a magnus line weapon?

If you insist on only getting one damage dealing weapon then Iron Slug is better than Callahan by all means. That said, I don't think this loadout is a very good idea. You'll need more variety.

when you are doing solo, monsters will have to face to face with you anyway, so your magnus charge would most likely in the correct position. In party, people mostly annoy the heck outta you on breaking freeze. And I don't think you always need a lot of free space to charge.

Yes, this loadout would work, assuming that you tailor your magnus damage type to the enemies at hand (or just use normal). But it's not great.
Freeze is very attractive to newish players, because it helps them control a room. But in my experience expert players don't use much freeze. Why? First, freeze hinders some important tactics such as knockback, shield-bumping, kiting, etc. Second, the time that you spend freezing could be used for doing damage instead. Third, as other posters have noted, your teammates often break the freeze anyway.
In general I would recommend a vortex bomb instead. Even expert players use those, for gathering up monsters to inflict massive charge damage. But there is a problem, that you may not have time to charge a gun into your own vortex.

Hm...
Vortex certainly sounds nice, but the duration is a bit worrying.
I think I'll try out both and see which one is better, since I've got extra crowns to spare.

eletron vortex is useful as it shocks enemies as well
Are you wanting normal DMG against everything, or do you want to do more damage to beasts and fiends. Hint. Beasts and fiends dodge gunfire and the Callahan is a slow gun.
