Hey guys it's me after a long time!
So I've made and heated a Mega Magnus to level 9 and was originally gonna make an Iron Slug. But now I'm confused whether to make Callahan or Iron Slug. One problem I have with Callahan is that I can't seem to hit Wolvers with its charge. It's very frustrating and I'd rather make an Iron Slug. Second problem, I don't have a Piercing Sword so I have to make a Grand Flourish too.

On the other hand, if I make a Callahan, I can also make a Winter Grave(already have heated Tundrus lying around) and I've heard it's an amazing gun. I also can't waste orbs and money as I'm also aiming for the Chaos Set.

So, help me friends.
Callahan or Iron Slug? Callahan or Final Flourish?

All 4 are fine weapons. You can't go wrong.

There's no reason to make two piercing weapons - not while you're only starting your arsenal, anyway. Since you seem to be a hybrid sword/gunner, you'll probably be happier with a toothpick and the Slug. But why did you want a Flourish? With a name like "Snarby-Slasher", don't you already have a good Thorn Blade?

As a hybrid, one of your main uses for a gun will be to pick off otherwise-inaccessible turrets (puppies, howlitzers, polyps). That's not a job shadow or piercing weapons were meant for. You'll want an elemental or normal gun instead. That's another reason to go for a Slug. While a Winter Grave is a nice gun, it's probably lower priority.

If you can't hit a wolver with a Magnus charge, you won't hit one with a Slug or Callahan charge either. That's not an issue.

Hmmmph

Pfft... wolvers are easy when you can abuse their programming.

They always teleport behind you to bite. Hold your charge till they do and ready a bite, you need good timing to pull this off but do it right and you can OHKO them. Of course if you want something more straightforward that requires less timing and brainwork you can always get a flourish/thorn blade and stab about like a drunk in a barfight.

...

Iron Slug! because I just want to one-shot that lumber. And winter grave is not exactly the same as magnus due to freeze chance, the knockback might stop while freeze kicks in. The right timing to hit wolver with magnus charge is when they started to charging a bite or barked on happiness.

Slug.

The piercing damage on callahan isn't really useful because it's quite difficult to hit pierce-weak monsters with it.
I suggest slug.

both are great

Iron Slug and Callahan are both great. Pick whichever you want. Learn the wolver AI, to get better at hitting them.

Iron Slug!!!

Cause I use it! Nuff said!!

But on a more serious note
Callahan- for high Damage against wolvers and devilites + stun
Iron Slug- for good damage against everything + stun
Winter Grave- for high damage against jellies and gremlins+ ice for crowd control

For me personally, I don't fight devilites much and wolvers aren't troublesome, so I use Iron Slug more so than Callahan
Winter Grave however has its uses. It's effective against 4 enemy classes and has ice which is a good crowd control status.
However since it can't effectively be used in vana except as a crowd control weapon(but why take that when you can take a glacius), I feel that Iron Slug is the better Magnus😊

Edit: Forgot about the flourish, if you go with Iron Slug then yes barb sword or flourish sword is better than Callahan

I can help

I used to have both a callahan and an iron slug
I sold the callahan and barely noticed any difficulty
so yeah the iron slug is fine, id recommend getting that first and working towards the other magnuses after vanguard
