From March 8th's announcement.
"Some handgun and bomb recipes have been altered to contain new materials"
Apparently this included removing some materials and/or replacing them. Argent Peacemaker also got a recipe tweak (someone complained about having made this handgun days before the update). The Voltech Alchemer and the Freezing Vaporizer series got an update too.

Thanks Saphy, but I was referring to if it (the cold iron vanquisher) came from today's update - which it seems to have, so I also assume other swords got recipe updates too. Haven't checked (I don't have alot of sword recipes), but is this case?

A LOT of other recipes got updated as well. I've done all the swords already so those are correct now. I'll be working on the others soon.
Edit: All recipes on the wiki should now be up to date. We're still missing the Volcanic Demo Suit recipe if anyone has it.

Recipe changes
A LOT of other recipes got updated as well.
All weapons and armor, barring shields (I think), should have updated recipes now. They all follow a standardized pattern, and the ones that are clearly associated with a particular status condition utilize status-related materials.
There might be some stuff in there that previously was or seemed unobtainable, but since the 3/8 patch, all materials should now be properly dropping from their associated monsters. Sun Silver and Dragon Scales for... some!

Because before it was ridiculously rare - only found in treasure boxes, when those things actually dropped items besides just scrap metal.
in other news I did a run with 2 guild mates today and we got 2 everfrost drops...so ya...dont think its worth much anymore either...
