I've put myself in the position to lose 25Kcr before (trusting friends to buy me recipes) and I was tricked out of 1Kcr when I was a noob, but really, how did this guy manage to get 120,000cr worth of materials without any collateral? What deal was supposedly going to happen?

Since the OP said "close friends", they might've been sharing the account. If not that, then I dunno.
This is why I would never let anyone borrow my account ever.
Use the /complain command in-game to report him to the GMs as soon as you can. (Name-and-shame threads on the forums are actually against the rules.)
