Grouping. Jelly Palace, in particular, is ridiculous. Also, don't die. You'd think that one would sound obvious but a lot of people neglect the importance of not dying.

I usually just equip all my lvl10 items except the one i want to level, and then solo t1 for easy heat that all goes to one item. Of all the ways i've tried to quick-level items this works the best, and I'm almost always leveling other peoples items to craft upgrades.

Yeah, and I've noticed when you solo it doesn't really matter what tier you solo in you're going to get the same amount of heat. The best way to get good heat is to go in with just one other person. That way you guys can revive each other and the heat is being recycled between the both of you instead of four people, and when you solo and you die you just lose that 30% heat instead of having someone else with you where you can feed off each other.
Jelly runs are the best for heat by far, easy kills and lots to kill.

More people = more heat and
More people = more heat and crowns, but you face the risk of tougher enemies which can kill you but you have 3 chances to be revived by another player without the use of CE which negates the negatives of dying anyways. Equipping level 10 items is of course the best way to level up a low level item, if you have multiple low level items then only equip one at a time so all the heat is dedicated to that one item.
