So, I'm bored, since the game has been laggy for me the last couple days making it somewhat unplayable. Decided I'd use this time to collect all the random various ideas I've had and dump them into one place -

The Underworld:
Curse themed Devilites mixed up with some freeze and poison themed enemies, like kats, undead, howlizters, and jelly. Basically, Ultimate Dark City. Placing this about on par with UFSC sounds reasonable. It would be an actual tier 3 boss strata though, classified “Fiend”. Something for the end-gamers to have as their new main farming content.

Sleep Themed Stages:
Slooms, Sloombargo, and Gremlins are the antagonists of these stages, along with an all new foe from the Spiral Knights’ past. 12 unique dream shards (which one appears on a given stage is random) can be examined that give background into the past of the Spiral Knights. These stages can appear in jelly, construct, or gremlin themed gates.

Spiral Elite Training Arena:
Using arena tickets acquired from a variety of various sources, players can gain entry to Krogmo’s newest event, a joint collaboration between Spiral HQ and King Krogmo. Players enter cups that are comprised of a series of unique arena battles that bring some forgotten foes back into the lime light. The Old Royal Jelly will make an appearance along with other retired enemies, and King Krogmo himself is rumored to be stepping into the ring. Time attack modes are included for each of the 5 cups to give longevity and serious long term competition for dedicated players.

Second Arrival:
Not really new content, but a revamp of the lower level content. New tutorials, cheaper lower level crafting, cheaper Tier 1 elevator costs, etc. Basically, trying to welcome new players to the game, get them playing and enjoying the game, and making it clear they can play the game and have fun without spending money (I’m really, really surprised there’s nothing in the first 15 minutes in the game that makes it clear that players can buy energy from other players), but that doing it will help them along the road.

Outbreak:
The Swarm is out in full force and seeking to bring down the whole of Cradle. For a month, each gate is progressively more corrupted by the Swarm, as it works its way up from the Core towards the surface. Tier 3 is eventually completely corrupted, and Tier 2 is nearly corrupted by the Swarm. It is an all out war in the Clockworks. Along with prize boxes at the end of each swarm stage that contain the usual stage payouts, players can also gain special tokens that allow them to acquire unique costume items. This event is setting the stage for the next big releases to come, and getting the player base as a whole familiar with the biggest threat the Spiral Knights will face.

I like most of them

I think that most of your suggestions are all pretty good, and I would add that perhaps some crafted items should extend all the way back to the Proto gear. I'm not the first to suggest that, but I don't see it proposed much. The Proto Sword should upgrade to the Bolted Blade, which in turn could either upgrade to Calibur or Brandish.

The Rescue Camp elevator should have more levels in it, possibly samples of every kind of stratum in the Clockworks. Maybe put an Advanced Training Hall in Rescue Camp, and the players should be all ready for Haven.

Maybe, during some seasons, there could be a "back in time" event, where several enemies and themes temporarily revert to a previous state. For example, the Almirian strata would be good and pleasant ones, with most of the enemies being evil knights and a young Lord Vanaduke occasionally appearing. The Tortodrone would appear on occasion, and Owlites can be found occasionally.

Just a few random ideas.

Expeditions Basically, the

Expeditions

Basically, the idea is that you would get expedition tickets that let you go through specific areas on the surface world to try to bag new bosses. These new bosses could drop materials to craft new items. The shadow lair already worked pretty well for 000. Instead of running through a tier 3 boss strata, you could hunt specific tier monsters with your buddies, and these new boss fights would basically be epic battles that, instead of running through a level, you would basically fight and chase these enemies through a number of areas. Basically Monster Hunter but with Spiral Knights battle system. I think it would work pretty well.

We hear about supposed "Dragons" and yet we have yet to see an ACTUAL dragon. Would be interesting to see the ecosystem of a volcanic region... vog cubs that feed off salamanders that in turn feed off oilers that spawn in various fire pits, with the dragon at the top of the food chain consuming the vog cubs.

Another possible expedition would be to try to hunt down a "Skolver", a beast that goes into long periods of hibernation until it senses the living... it strikes so quickly that its prey don't even realize they have crossed over, wandering the wastes aimlessly in undeath. Frozen Shamblers and Chilling Howlitzers would make up most of the enemy composition, perhaps along with some Alpha Frostifurs. The blizzard is so intense that at times the winds that blow by can suddenly freeze adventuers in their tracks, leaving them prime targets for the Skolver.

There are plenty of possibilities. It would be a chance to bring out theme/monster combinations that are relatively unused as well as facing all new boss enemies. If done correctly, it, like shadow lairs, would incentivize players to try out new armor and weapon combinations which makes more money for 000 on top of the money spent acquiring tickets and on crafting the new gear rewards.

With all these tickets flying

With all these tickets flying around, I wouldn't mind seeing lockboxes revamped.

Each lockbox awards you with various materials, a random 2* or above item, typically 2* though, an accessory, and then a rare item. This rare item can a shadow key, a ticket for new content, or a unique variant ticket. This would highly incentivize the opening of lockboxes. Lockboxes would be much more like booster packs of TCG - you get lots of fluff, but you always get a rare "holographic" card. As players sought to open these boxes and do new content, those who already had their fill of the older content might sell their shadow keys or whatever other tickets for cheaper allowing them to work their way into the casual population.

Yeah. Well, I figured The

Yeah. Well, I figured The Underworld would be a cross between Candlestick, Dark City, Concrete Jungle. Lots of cool colors (I mean cool as in purple blue green, like the opposite of warm colors), some Grimalkin floating around, narrow hallways and crumbling bridges, blue lighting from the candles would mix well with the ice themed enemies. I like the "horror" vibe that Candlestick gives, but basically extended to a boss tier. The poison and ice theme would be a contrast to a lot of the fire themed content you see at the end game.

I say Ultimate Dark City because the main encounters would have more of a Dark City type of a feel to them. Small confined spaces with smaller enemies and lots of projectiles flying around. The undead and jelly would mostly hang out in the corridors, except for maybe an encounter or two (an encounter where toxigel respawn in briar patches and attack you while you fend off devilites comes to mind).

as a related note, there are

as a related note, there are three status conditions that cannot hace their own stratums in the current system, curse, stun, and sleep, this is because with the top two mineral system only allows for 10 combinations (6 monsters and fire, shock, freeze and poison). While working in individual levels can be intigrated easily, it seams kinda like a waste not to go the whole 9 yards and make the monsters to allow for statums. It would of course require a change in the gate building system, or have such stratums only show up when a gate stratum has anti-mineral disruption.

Uuuummm....

@Thinslayer? the cost for making a Proto would be... 50 cr, 5 CE? You want people to make 20+ of these a day? and eventually Have a ASI Very High, Damage up Very High and a CTR Very High On a Leviathan? That sounds quite silly! :3

Teamwork Dungeons and Guild

Teamwork Dungeons and Guild Trophy Rooms:

Teamwork Dungeons are new content specifically aimed at requiring teamwork. Each week a guild must start from stratum 1 and progressively unlock each stratum through some process (basically to allow all players in a guild regardless of tier to contribute). Stratum 1-5 are various random teamwork dungeon stages with a specific theme for the stratum similar to normal gates. Stratum 6 is the teamwork boss stratum. It is meant to offer a challenge that exceeds challenge of any current content. Ultimately it ends with a battle with a tortomega, and the team has to split up two and two with half the team handling it from the outside and the other half of the team inside sabotaging its systems from the inside.

To compliment this new focus on Guild achievements, a Guild Trophy Room is added. All monsters and bosses are updated to drop materials specific to their type, and players can take these materials along with other crafting materials and some amount of CE and craft up trophies to inhabit a trophy hall. Each monster and element combination has a random chance to drop its material (tradable), and any time a boss is defeated it will drop a material that cannot be traded. Basically the idea is that guilds have something to work towards - filling out their halls with every enemy and element combination and putting up trophies of all the bosses, in their normal and shadow lair forms, and finally putting up a tortomega trophy. This hall could also display other achievements like a medal for top lockdown/blast guild in a week etc. This system would gel with many other suggestions, as it would give another reason to get the top times in the Spiral Elite Arena which could be displayed in the hall, and Expedition bosses along with the Underworld boss could be put on display.
