I was playing the game and thinking, what would the community respond to a Stranger that smelts your weapons? If you don't know, smelting means taking a item and breaking it down to multiple smaller items. My idea consists of a Stranger that takes your bound weapon, and for a decent CE cost, can smelt your weapons into materials, so those mats can be used or sold. It help with the problem of dealing with your bound/no longer needed lower star weapons, and you get useful stuff in return. It's a wild idea, tell me what you think.

-.-

You can sell your bound stuff for cr at the vendors in the bazaar and/or Basil, so you're already covered in this sense.

an idea I had

was basically the same thing, but different in a sense.

You would have to spend 150% Crafting price. (Example: 5 star to 4 star. To craft a 4 star you would have to spend 400 CE. 50% of 400 is 200. 400+200 = 600. Therefore the price to craft down from 5 to 4 would be, in energy alone, 600 CE).

It would only take, to craft down, though:
-The item of higher tier
-Crowns
-Ce

And yes, you keep your UV.

Why would I want to do this?
A.) Unbind cost
B.) Going back a line to change your weapon to a different line. (I don't like faust, I want to go Avenger. Hmm.. hunting blade isn't that good, let me go back and get a vile striker recipe).

OP? Think of this:

I dont want to spend 4kce on unbinding 5 star, so make 4 star. You just lost 600 Ce. Technically your 4 star unbind is 2400 now, therefore less profit.
People pay more, anyway, for higher tier due to lack of work and recipe and mats and stuff, so there's lost profit.
Not to mention you're not going to be giving away anything super powerful, so it's not game breaking.

hmmm...

or a smelter that reverts your original craft? that be an idea, to get your original materials back and your original item, so you can upgrade it to something different. course it cost more ce to recraft, but in a sense it saves you too...

Reverting

A 4* weapon costs 15k (the previous 3* version always needed) + 400ce ( around 27k?)
15+27=42kcr (plus mats)
Selling the 5* to an npc vendor is 30kcr. You lose 12kcr and mats.

Your idea: just go back a level, wich wont be free, they'll surely add a cost to it (wich may or may not be higher than 12kcr). The only difference is that you get the mats back.

Be useful for different weapons

Say while you're upgrading your, oh I don't know, Brandish. You upgrade to fire brandish, but then it gets a uv! Beast VH! Sucks. It's elemental.

Revert back. Go to nightblade. Oh man look at this not a waste

hm...

i think having a smelter in game would be useful for advanced and intermediate players, especially as stated above, you goof or dont like your current weapon. It be extremely useful, ce prices might (and I say MIGHT) stabilize to a solid rate if used consistently, and plus it adds much needed versatility to crafting. If this idea was implemented, it could have lasting positive effects if used properly.
