Time to put aside luxuries and reveal the dirt that lies underneath the story. In my opinion, this is a good concept (albeit overused,) and excellent characterization. But there are several problems I find with the story. Personally, I would go with paragraphs rather than stanzas as it is rather awkward to cut a sentence off with a new stanza. But now the actual problems that are not opinions, but facts. You seem to have dropped several storylines throughout the story, or perhaps didn't explain well enough. Two of these storylines would include the Dreaded Docks with Ice and Necro, the Mayist-visits-human-camp storyline (We understand that someone died, but you didn't explain what had happened to Mayist), and the creature in the Wildwoods (It was a creature. Can't remember its name. Kind of expected it to play a larger role.) Perhaps thoroughly explain what happens in most scenes, as we only know about the character's actions and dialogue and it leaves the reader to imagine what's it like.

Mindspark hit it straight on with that one.
