How can you be "stuck for 3 months"? Are you at least able to farm Snarby? If you aren't, gear will not help you. If you are, just keep doing that and buying 2* off the AH cheaply. Not hard. . . .

How do you get "stuck" in Spiral Knights? i'm nearly tier 2(only reason i'm not is saving money by getting the snarby shield) after 2 clockwork runs on a laggy laptop while using the touchpad so I cannot imagine someone with (presumably)better conditions having any trouble at all.

snarby is short for
snarby is short for snarbolax, which is the boss of the gloaming wildwoods, which can be found in the tier 1.
farm, is essentially keep doing it over and over again to earn crowns and tokens. Use those crowns and tokens to improve your player.
Most people farm snarby when they first start, then move on to farm the royal jelly palace (in T2) and when they reach 5* equips, they move onto Firestorm Citadel with Vanaduke (T3)
