I was discussing things such as material sinks with a friend, and came up with the following:
(The first I won't really discuss, but it was just the concept of some craft-only accessories, oh and higher amounts for missions)

Potions are expensive one use per player per floor buffs (and maybe debuffs?) I don't think we need any healing potions or status effect potions, vials and pills cover those. Potions of a similar type do not stack (Attack+, Defense+, Attack-, Defense-, Movement Speed+), and they have 1-5 star variants. Bosses, or any mobs of the developers' choosing have immunity to their negative effects. Negative effects do not harm players, and positive effects don't help enemies. They can effect all players to a lesser extent, the holder to a greater extent, one mob to a great extent, or all enemies (in a range) to a lesser extent. They can effect all damage types to a much lesser extent too, but don't expect the all-stat-all-player potions to do a lot. :)

I'll post more specific recipes later, but for now I just wanted to get this down 'on paper'.

If you can find the proper balance, then go ahead. But simply making ourselves stronger seems bad enough.
Enemies need some attention first. Knights are powerfull enough for now.

I've noticed something...

Something very interesting...

As long as I have played, no Player Gear has ever been nerfed (Pepperbox was a fix).

Meanwhile, every monster in the game with but a few exceptions have been nerfed a hundred times.

So, remind me why we need to be stronger?

When I first saw the title I thought "this'll be stupid", but it turned out to be a pretty good suggestion. The only problem is that we're already so powerful lol..

Spiral Suicides

I don't think this would be ideal, the game is pretty easy as it is.
Giving Knights more attack on a whim, bosses may as well just die upon hitting the party button.

I would like to see more monsters buffing each other though, as well as maybe a way for monsters to siphon player stats or reduce them outside of straight up statuses.

@Shoebox Monster teamwork

@Shoebox
Monster teamwork would be pretty awesome. Be more like a formidable defensive team like they're supposed to be, defending the clockworks, rather than just a mumble jumble of random creatures all drawing a straight path for you. I'd like to see gremlins scurrying about trying to cut you off (like how the menders kinda interact) and perhaps working on the constructs as they lumber (pun intended) after you.

I don't know

I suppose this is true, we are powerful enough. I'm just trying to brainstorm up some mat sinks, something that I think this game really needs.

Hm....

I vote for a 'self destruct' potion.

/Run into a mob: 'KAMIKAZE!!!!!!'

/The ground under Haven tremors a bit as Devilish Drudgery is blown from existence.

Knight A: 'What was that?'
Knight B: 'Meh, some idiot testing the Suicide bomb potion.'
Knight A: 'Ah ok. No great loss then'
...
Knight A: 'Wait, does it work?'
Knight B: /shrug 'Go test it yourself'
Knight A: 'K. I'll be right back...'
....

News report: 'Breaking news, Wolver Den Ashes to Ashtails seems to be missing, following a small earthquake. Geologists are still stumped by what could have caused such an event, and have yet to find an answer.'

Knight B: /shrug 'Meh. No great loss'

Well, if you're just trying to think of material sinks, maybe we should have a thread devoted to that instead?

Of the top of my head, what if we could deposit materials to affect what the next Featured Auction items are?
It'd be reminiscent of depositing minerals to the gates... although OOO would have a hard time figuring out exactly how to do this.
