Uh... Is it "Acheron" or "Akeron" or "Asheron" or... What syllables are emphasized? AAcheron? aCHERon??? Even my guildmates kinda mumble the name over voice chat because they're not sure.
Any opinions?

What I've always said is "ae-kair-on". Not sure how to spell out a sound that sounds just like the letter a. Whoops!

"ch" is pronounced in the manner "much" is, so a straight English rendering would be aCHERon. Though the original Greek translates better as Akheron.
Gotta love how English maims the crap out of other languages. If you wanna stick to the source of the name, you'll pronounce it as Akheron.
Random side fact:
Acheron is actually a river in the Classical Greek underworld. There are a total of 5, actually, with Styx being the most well known.

Rommil: I actually thought the sword was named Archeron (archer-ron...I'm terrible with pronunciations too) until really recently, when I typed it into my inventory and couldn't find it--usually I just open up the sword tab since it's right there on top. As for how I say the actual name of the sword, I've been going with AH-che-ron, though now I see that it's definitely not the right way to say it.

No, they merely used the name Acheron because it's a thing from a previously established mythology. They didn't use it because its Greek. Troika is indeed rooted in Russian however, along with the names of all the swords of that line.
There are references all over the game too, to varieties of things. Spark of Life, Sentenza/Nameless stuff, Callahan, etc.
