When i attempt to scroll down and view other auctions the AH window just re-pops-out (dunno how2 explain this) and back to featured items which i cant afford!

STILL NOT WORKIN AFTER RE-INSTALLATION. Well i use steam.

Way to fix:
use the scroll wheel instead of clicking on the scroll bar, glitch doesnt happen unless u click on the bar thing.
Keep in a distance with AH, prob on the edge where u can access it. (not out of activation range)

Same here. Non steam

Same here. Non steam user.

Mac OSX 10.7.3
java version "1.6.0_31"

Edit: I seem to have found the problem. If you are within proximity to the AH, every time you click the action key, whether you are in the Character menu, Mission menu or even in the AH menu, you will access the AH again as if you aren't already busy. I have found a work around in the mean time, try using the Defend key.

This bug isn't just limited to the AH, basically if you are busy, you can still interact with the environment by hitting the action key. E.g. Alchemy Machine

You can also fix the problem

You can also fix the problem by standing far enough from the AH.

We've issued an announcement

We've issued an announcement in game regarding this issue:

There is a known bug with having the 'Action' key assigned to your left mouse button with certain interfaces such as the Auction House. It will be fixed as soon as possible. If you are experiencing issues, please reassign the 'Action' key to something other than the left mouse button until the issue is reseolved. Thank you for your patience.

Ya, my mouse doesn't work in

Ya, my mouse doesn't work in my messages if I have the auction house open. Maybe open air bazaars just hate left mouse buttons.

Why does spiral knights not

Why does spiral knights not use the same default (m1=attack) as every other game?

This glitch also affects me when I have my mission window open near any NPC (Including Auction House).

"please reassign the 'Action' key to something other than the left mouse button"
For those of us who have been using the the same basic video game controls since Half-Life came out (~14 years ago), that is a laughable suggestion and utterly unworkable outside of reassigning the key each time we enter and leave the clockworks.

The Auction House is useless to me. Every time I search for an item I lose the ability to click any items (it just kicks me back to the featured window). Yes, I use left mouse as my attack/action button (as is the default on every other PC game I have played in the last decade).

Why is the action button

Why is the action button still active when you have a full screen interface open that stops you from doing absolutely anything except typing anyway?

Ok, I forgot that SK will let you assign more then one key to a function (3 even, a nice feature that is appreciated). So, I have selected another key to also use for action key.

However, this has not fixed my problem at all. It seems that it is an issue as long as "mouse1" is assigned to "action" even if you are using a different key assigned to "action" and not using "mouse1". Very annoying. The only way to properly interface with the AH seems to be to remove "action" from "mouse1".

If you don't want to reassign the action key

You can work around the issue by using the mouse wheel to scroll instead of clicking on the scroll bars.

There's a workaround I've

There's a workaround I've found that works quite well for those who like the Left mouse button (like me):

To use the AH, stand on the right side in front of the orange flag as far as you can from the AH itself (which is about 1-1.5 squares, almost centered in front of the flag). Aiming horizontally leftwards, you should be just barely in range to access it. Since the AH can only trigger in that small area, you won't have the window opening/closing nearly at all when compared to standing in the middle.

Should also work on the left side, no reason I can see off the top of my head that says it wouldn't. Me and a couple guildies have found this to work for now, so at least we can still use the AH.

Guys, I found a work-around. (Edit: Ninja'd by Extribble)

An add-on to OP: Stay to the very far right of the AH, and access the AH from an angle at the edge of action range.

Clicking on the left sidebar (featured auctions, find auctions, find by recipe) is not affected. It's only the main window, so making the window out of the house attendants' range will not trigger reopens. Use your mouse away.

And apparently the glitch also affects action button set to keys. Unless I'm not supposed to assign the action key to my mouse at all... (I have it assigned to LMB and "F")

My issue is not with

My issue is not with scrolling it is with clicking on items after doing a search (the window closes and reopens). I'll try the diagonal trick next time I'm on & see if I can get that to work...
