about the idea of this new bomb

We all like the idea of this new bomb, what we dont like is they are replacing RSS with it.

Most of us would want a real 5* version of a RSS (previously 5* then changed to 4* after the launch), but why replacing its functionality and ultimately change the current bombers' playing styles.

I think it is perfectly reasonable for a shard bomb to shoot out shards. What makes this OP in Lockdown is you need to have Bomb Damage bonus max, without any damage bonus, you are basically a moving target waiting to get slaughtered. There are only a handful of people that can get 20k+ damage with it compared to the countless skolvers that can achieve this damage.

This new bomb idea can really apply to the Rock Salt and Iodized Rock Salt bomb because they have no reason to shoot out shards.

This is an new proposal, which is similar the previously "Haze" bomb line, we only change the Crystal Bomb, Rock Salt, and Iodized Salt bomb. Sun Shards, and Radiant Sun Shards will remain in a separate line starting at 3*.

Also, question for nick. Will the 5star shard bombs get damage bonus undead/slime VH? I got a crystal bomb with slime med, good for a salt bomb. But if it gets damage bonus slime VH on 5star then paired with my chaos I get max, in which case I'm better off trying to get a ctr uv.

Well the bombs present on the test server now are pretty bad. Pretty much six(including the changed RSS/ISB) nitronome-y bombs with half the original damage of RSS

I think we have good reason to demand OOO leave the current RSS alone, buff the ISB and let only the 4 new "shard bomb" lines have the new mechanics.

the new bomb is just bad

i honestly hate it. i made the bomb for a purpose i wanted to snope single enemies and kill a zombie in a single hit. and in PvP its fun to hit random ppl. the new bomb has a major delay and does less dmg and i used to take it to vana but no thsat it doesnt have elemental there is no point to it. the update makes me want to flat out sell the bomb but it sucks so much no1 would buy it. i am very dissapointed wit 000 they really messed up.

This is a lie.

Here is a picture of the stat bars of current Radiant Sun Shards. For those who can't be bothered to open it, it's 7 bars of piercing damage.

This is old Radiant Sun Shards. 7 bars of piercing damage, 7 bars of elemental damage.

Old Radiant Sun Shards had twice as many bars in total as the new ones. I would go as far as to say that the effectiveness of the weapon has been reduced. To half. People are going to point out that bars are total lies, but in this case they tell the truth. I compared the damage table of Scintillating Sun Shards versus the damage table of old Radiant Sun Shards.

In stratum 5, against undead, the damage is almost double of what nSSS has against beasts. The only reason it's just almost is because of the piercing part of old RSS not doing its full damage against them. It's not like the new bombs are capable of more multihits than the old ones, either. In fact, it's the complete opposite.

What went wrong here, Nick? We demand answers. We've been demanding answers for months.

It wasn't broken before, frankly.

We have a gun that shoots bombs (Polaris), why not a bomb that functions as a gun?(Shards)

The reason that shards was supposed to be more bomb-like just doesn't fly, because SHARDS primed by an EXPLOSIVE do not behave the way this new bomb casts them.

See: Shrapnel bomb.

Just change it back. I'm begging here.

I'm a swordy/gun hybrid, and this was a huge turn off to the bomb line.

RSS did damage with its explosion in addition to its 8 shards, each one did the same amount of damage similar to how DR's blast damage is identical to the orbs.

nRSS does damage with its explosions, but it's less than than the shards do. The shards are also weaker overall. In fact, if you hit an enemy with effective damage once and neutral damage, the accumulated damage would still be lower than RSS. Granted, the difference between 1.5 nRSS and RSS seems like a reasonable trade in favour of stun and +1 extra bonus against fiends. Not too far from how alchemers are.

With the current situation it's just gimped, though.

Hmm....

I'd say just double all of the shard bomb damages, and we'll call it a day.

I mean, come on, I can hit someone with a rock salt bomb in LD and only ONE purple bar comes out. I want my CE back!
