If it wasn't, then it wouldn't have been able to do anything with Vise in the first place.
Regardless, Vise does not turn your weapons into Crystal Energy; you use Energy to unbind items from yourself. There is no destruction of items at any point.

I lost all of my mist energy in the process, I thought I would gain 150 crystal energy but got the opposite.

Yeah, as everyone else said, Vise only unbinds your bound item...........So unless the game has gone wacko and the world has been turned upside down (which really will happen in a few million years time), then its impossible. Maybe the snipes stole it...................

Except, you have to remember how easy it is now for knights to get said hot edge, which should perfectly explain why Vise worked :P but yeah, vise doesn't destroy weapons, only unbinds them for you to be able to sell them, and because EVERYBODY gets one of these things, it's not likely you'll be able to sell it very easily.
