Launching issue, response code 503

Until yesterday, everything was working fine, but today for some reasons SK refuses to launch, here is the error message I get after reinstalling (I checked my Java version, which is up to date according Oracle site) :

The application has failed to launch due to the following
error:
Server returned HTTP response code: 503 for URL: http:
//download.threerings.
net/spiral/201106021524949/getdown.txt

To describe a little more, as of lately, the normal install didn't want to launch because of "multiple instances". Today, the web launcher stopped working too, showing me the above error message. After reinstalling SK, I also get the same error message. I am on Windows 7 32 bit (don't work on Windows 8 RP because of drivers)

Anyone got an idea of how to fix that ?

I didn't change anything in the network configuration since yesterday, and the game works fine on my other (Mac) computer.

happen to me also

I got that code also when using armor games acccount steam account seems fine.

i did some typing search about 503 its about "The Web server (running the Web site) is currently unable to handle the HTTP request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server."

Hi, I have the same issue today as well. Game working fine yesterday, however this morning I clicked on play and the message came up too. I have sent a report to tech, but no response as of yet. Im using a Mac so looks like this problem is on both Macs and PCs. I hope they reimburse us for any lost time in play as I pay for a lift pass so losing time on that!

Thanks a lot for the answer Hyperion. I guess we'll just have to wait for them to find the cause for that pesky problem. That's what we got for letting those devilites roam free with office furniture!

P.S. : the error message is not the exact one since I copy/pasted from an old thread (I get it in french so I figured I might as well take an english version), see Xykka's screenshot to have the exact one.

Add me to the list of people with the exact same error. I also have an elevator pass and it would be really nice if it was extended during this downtime...

Same here. spiral knights website and forums were working fine till prob late last night. getting the same 503 service temporarily unavailabe. the thing is if i turn off wifi on my phone and use 3G i can you the main site and forums as normal. so its defo a wifi thing (obviously). I mailed support were fast in thier response to help but that didnt rectify the problem. just waiting now i guess

what the heck? this happens to me and i find this that was posted a little over a month ago. what do i do? i am trying to play SK but i can't, i keep getting the error response 503.... help?

yeah I am still encountering that issue...
Is there anything that I should do?I have updated my drivers,java version, and even tried to run the game with different browsers.same thing.

it appears to be fine for people playing from Steam. they never encountered this so far , so I heard, but yeah, patience is a virtue I suppose...
