I have a simple suggestion, that might help bring some traffic into the arcade, or at least make people aware of it. Basically, each day there would be a daily mission, asking for two requirements, such as 20 Gremlin Scorcher kills 0/20, or 90 handgun kills 0/90. Each of the requirements would need to be filled in the arcade, maybe in the apropriate tier, outside of a boss area. You would be able to keep track of your progress through the mission interface, and once both requirements were fulfilled, you would be able to "complete" the mission.
Daily Arcade Quota Missions
Or maybe something I remember talking about a while ago not that anyone reads my long posts where Arcade floors each give you one "mission token" which allows you to access one mission per token (do one Arcade floor, allowed to do a whole mission) or one mission floor per token (1:1). Untradable, not purchasable, only obtained by doing Arcade floors if you loaded in the spawn area and not if you joined later.
I think ALL missions should be things you go do in the arcade, so I support this.
Since prestige is as of now useless I wonder how many would care to do such missions.
You're wasting energy that could be used to farm vana for the 9001th time.
+1, I think this would really be a really nice addition to the daily missions, and would really help to mix up the content a ton.
Also +1 to more features that require the knight to have a certain amount of prestige, those would be nice.
I haven't really worked out a reward, although I like the idea of an "Arcade Token."
@Dmatter, I doubt there would be none of an enemy type in all four gates, but I guess enemies like that would just be excluded from the rotation until the gates change.
@Oatmonster
Yeah, I like the idea of an "Arcade Token" too ^^ Thoughts:
-Upon reaching a certain amount of Arcade/Mission Tokens, you can use them to trade for other items/recipes/weapons/armor/accessories via Brinks.
-You can only earn 9 Arcade/Mission Tokens a day (nine, because its 3 squared, and 3 is my favorite number :P)
-You get 1 Arcade Token for completing a Tier 1 Arcade Mission, 2 for completing a Tier 2 Arcade mission, and 3 for completing a Tier 3
Yeah, scaling the tokens to tier would be gudd against T1 farming. That sounds weird.
But with T3 giving three tokens per floor and T2 giving two per floor, would missions of the same tier require the same amount of tokens? If someone wants to do smelly old Firestorm would it cost three tokens per floor, or would there be tier specific tokens that you can only get from a specific tier instead of simply getting more tokens for doing higher tier floors?
For the people as confused as I am with all the voices in my head talking about ordering a pizza, have a less jumbled together version:
- T3 gives three of these tokens per floor, T2 gives two, and T1 gives one; one token is required per floor for missions, if you do not have sufficient tokens you will not be allowed to continue as if you do not have enough energy and are trying to access the next floor
- Each tier gives its own version of the token (T1, T2, T3) which can only be obtained by completing Arcade floors of the same tier (do T1 Arcade floors for T1 tokens, etc.)
- A combination of the two above; tiers have tier specific tokens that can only be obtained in that tier, but you can "break" or "combine" tokens to obtain tier specific tokens of other tiers:
- 2 T1 tokens = 1 T2 token
- 4 T1 tokens = 1 T3 token
- 2 T2 tokens = 1 T3 token
- T1 token = 1, T2 token = 2, T3 token = 4; if T3 tokens equal three this exchange system could be exploited by turning T1 tokens into T3, breaking those T3 tokens into T2; starts with three and ends with four
There could also be a new merchant NPC who sells stuff but only accepts these tokens as payment. Arcade tokens are still not tradable, purchasable, and only obtained if you were present in the previous floor and load the next floor unless the previous floor did not have an energy cost to access (tier break floors, Basil floors).
This system would drastically inhibit mission spamming which would hold the flag against inflation and CE prices would probably drop to 5500Cr:100CE after a couple months. Not that the majority of people care, they just want more missions and crowns to stuff in their pants. The crowns go in the pants not the missions. That would be weird.
good, but what if there are no gremlins or whatever, thus making the mission impossible?
