UMAZING BOMB IDEA!

Hey everybody! What's up!?!

If you haven't already noticed, bombs can only be used when charged. And now, since the new tutorial has been added, everyone is aware of that.
Well, I think this needs to change. (Not the awareness part, the bomb part!)

Now don't get me wrong, I'm no try hard player trying to make bombs overpowered, I prefer handguns. But I think that its a bit unfair that bombers have to charge up every time they want to attack. I mean come on, if your getting swarmed by enemies and your shield is down, then trying to charge up a bomb isn't going to help much.

Now I only own one 5* bomb, so I'm not calling myself an expert, but when I use it, I think, hey, this would be a WHOLE lot better if I could place smaller bombs like the gremlin demos do.

SOOOOOO...

I have a crazy idea! (Well its not really crazy, but it just adds to the effect). Let's allow bombers to place uncharged bombs!

Let me clarify that for you:

Players are allowed to drop only a certain amount of uncharged bombs at a time, amount varying depending on bomb. e.g. Nitronome - Uncharged: 3 uncharged bombs, Venom Veiler - Uncharged: 5 uncharged bombs.

Uncharged bombs would be weaker then when they are charged up

Uncharged bombs would have a smaller blast radius then their charged form, size depending on bomb. e.g. Shivermist Buster - Uncharged: Quite small blast radius, Big Angry Bomb - Uncharged: Moderate blast radius.

Uncharged bombs would have a smaller fuse, allowing bombers a variety in timing and access to quick detonation.

Uncharged bombs can be placed in succession quickly but not too fast. Maybe half a second after one another. Any less then that may be considered as spamming.

(EDIT) Once you've used up the amount of bombs at a time, e.g. 3 uncharged nitronomes in succession, you have to wait a certain amount of time before you can bomb again. (Maybe 3 seconds or so). Even if you change bombs you still can't bomb until the 3 second is up.

So yeah, hope you like the idea, feel free to post your opinion. Maybe this will get implemented.

Cheers,

This is exactly how uncharged bombs used to work. It was found to be overpowered but I believe that was mostly with old shard bombs.

It strictly depends on the nerfs they receive.

5 small VV may still cover a better area than a fully charged one, and you even shorten the fuse!
If BAB keeps knocback, you can trap enemies with a spam of bombs, replacing them as they blow up.

It should be more limited than this.

@Zeddy yeah, I see what you mean, but maybe with the shard bombs changed, and if we modified the mechanics, then it could work. Keep in mind that players can still drop charged bombs the same as normal.

@Little-Juances I see your point Juances, but those were only examples, feel free to post how you think the bombs should work.

@Michaelb cool...

Thanks for commenting! ;)

Switch?

What if you switched the order that the bomb works? What i mean is instead of charging first you start off with a planted bomb and then have a cooling period after equal to the amount of charge time. That way bombers can plant a bomb in a swarm.

Good thinking, except I was thinking more along the lines of bombers having two options, uncharged bombs and charged bombs. Still a good idea though. :)

Here's an idea for that...

What if for the uncharged bomb, with addition of only having 3 bombs at once, but also has a chance of being a dud?
