Do you know that map that only guides you around the map? Sounds normal when you think of it but not anymore! Introducing the new and improved spiralknights map! It tells you whats kind of enemies you will expect and the damage they mostly do. It will also tell you what you should bring from your arsenal. This way if you want a challenge or not this map will help you all the way. This to will show you a small picture of what monsters to expect each map you are in.Now say to your,''What will this also lead?'' It will also bring you rewards! Not like here you go but say you are at an arena. You would like the jackpot, but you are at 10 mist. This map will also tell you whether it's worth going for or not with your equipped equipment. It will not tell you exactly what you will get,but it will say worth going for or not worth going for. Like the title said ''a knights' handy guide.'' The actual new and improved.
A knights' handy guide
Any decent player knows all of that without the help of any "guide" from experience.
It may help new players, but you're over protecting them.
You mean the gate map? All you need to do is learn what kind of monsters are in each kind of level, and then you'll never need this. Plus with information about the level when you start it and arsenal stations being everywhere these days, this isn't really necessary, even for new players.
@Sweet, if you memorize the icons too, the gate map is fine for Missions.
So you're telling me you would just want the old fashion map. Everything the same. No extra help fits you then.
@Kiplik: what i mean: lets say fire mission: will give you either fire or fire mission not something different like arcade.
i remember hunting The Return of Ur for Black kats and the first map was some kind of 2 different levels each time you enter the level. but the same theme: Fiends. (one where you must look for the key and the other where lead to a mini arena of fiends).
While arcada will have a set of different level: Arena, Clock Works, Decons just for example. while mission its this path and only this path. thats what i mean.
In short: mission its just 1 safe path. while arcade its a different path since the "Map rotation" thing that missions dont have (but choose a random map for your mission well at least i can say that for Return of ur).
.
And somepeople made maps of the levels.
I'm telling you that I don't want the game to tell you exactly what you need for every single situation.
and im telling you that his idea is already implemented in the game with "Gate maps" :P. only differ in mission since its one path, while arcada its multiple paths. (thats why i said "Missions already have a stablished set of maps.")
Gate maps are fine. What he's suggesting is for the gate map to tell you exactly what type of enemies will show up in a particular level, removing the need to remember what different types of levels hold.
I was here before missions. I know about Gate Maps. And, multiple paths doesn't matter due to the arsenal stations everywhere and the Gate Map being accessible from the HUD.
in the upper left circle (the first) there is a dropdown menu. down there there is a "gate map". it has no shortcuts (but I still have to see if it has one in the controls). practically, it tells you what element/ monster type will you face. you only have to remember the colors of the monsters. where you will find the colors?
I didn't know that it was possible to know the family of monsters that appear by the color. This is interesting... But, I wore the names of the depths to know the monsters that have there.
For example, if the depth calls "Aurora Isles", it is widely believed that there are wolvers there. In case of "Descostruction Zone", i know that will appear a most gremlins.
Identify the familys of a depth isn't impossible.
You know in the Old Arcade days there something called "Gate Map" which tell you what kind of monster you will going to face, which status they inflict and also tells where the path will lead. so practically the thing you ask for it its already implemented. but only works for Arcade because Missions already have a stablished set of maps.
