This game is short if the goal is to play all content. It takes a short time once you get to tier 3. What one does after this is either quit or carrying on practising to get ridiculusly good at playing. The more you play, the more crowns you gain. With the crowns made one buys wanted things, such as weapons and armour with unique variants. The unique variants allow one to take ones already gained skills to a higher level.

Players who complain about other players doing this would in my opinion lack at least one of these:

Ability to stack wealth
Skills
Play time

So quit whining about unique variants, because everyone can get them.

I think the reason people complain about Unique Variants is that even though they've available to F2P players as well, they're so ridiculously endgame that very few F2P players have ever achieved. Even many P2P players have not achieved "perfect" UVs.
Heart Pendants aren't very endgame (or meta, or whatever it's called) but they are still moderately expensive to the fresh 5 star player. They're complained about because they topple balance of a player way too much.
Autotarget is like the backburner. It isn't all-powerful, but it gives new players that extra edge on players that have both great skills and lots of UVs (or maybe people get lots of UVs so they have an edge over new players with Autotarget?)

People need to get over the fact that LD is imbalanced... As long as you are able to bring in your own gear, which is the whole point of LD in the first place, the game will inherently be imbalanced. Imbalance between classes though is a different story.

ANYWAYS! I also find people complaining about Heart Trinkets just as annoying. Give me half an hour plus a bit of mist and I can fart out a +3 hp trinket. Give me an afternoon and I can upgrade that to a +4 hp trinket. It's honestly not that hard. You don't even need to play LD (or Blast Network). A Snarby run can get you enough crowns to buy an Enamorock (or even two!).

What's up with that? People that get bored with LD throws away their Skolver (or whatever gear they use) and start doing what they always do but with 0-star helm and armor.

Lockdown is a MINIGAME and will (as displayed by OOO) continue to be treated as one. More content for the main game (ie: clockworks and missions) is their focus. (ya know, when they're not tirelessly working on armor recolor promos.)

I can't take lockdown seriously, but unique variants are perfectly fine for the normal game. Or, they would be if they were more accessible and less game breaking.

What if they, OOO, got rid of triple UVs, and made the max for any kind of UV be med? Rarities would still hold true, except high/max/very high would all just be meds.

I would prefer they got rid of "maximum!" and let UVs go higher to accommodate bonuses on armor and weapons, and then rescaled everything so that the highest possible combination of something you could get was equal to the current "max".

Indeed, when I lost my account my F2P status delay my "come back" because I had no credit history with OOO, and took me a month to prove the spanish GMs that this account was mine, sending a full "ban history" to them to prove I was the real Feller.

And when I say rich I mean .. rich as having a pool INSIDE my swiming pool

I've never been in test servers, every información I handle is because of Contri or some other players I know.

I only do runs for heating, and that's from the very beggining, I retired after reach full 5* because everything in PVE was easy ( talking before all the nerf crap) until my brother told me about LD, after that I start merching with love trinkets (expensive crap back then).

Me and my brother Danyx had 3* trinkets, when those things worth 1.2m ea, and that was my first motivation, after that the UV update came out, so I got another reason to keep making money. Now I just keep making money because is fun.

Doing FSC with 3 alts, with 100 mist each alt, you can make 25k cr average, so, you need to do like 1000 runs just to have my sets, and I'm keeping the cr/ce and my merch goods aside.

I'm a rich F2P like it or not.

I get bored in runs so much, that I usually buy heat expantions or whatever they call, and invite my brothers to steal their heat.

I always receive hate messages for having decent uved items and only sitting in haven selling stuffz.
It hurts my feelings when they say I don't deserve the gear I have because I don't LD / suck at it...
I don't play much LD because I find it more enjoyable sitting in haven and interacting with others :(

The only reason why I continue to practice at LD are people like Ezho, Blados and mah LD guildies who don't scoff at noobies and instead provide helpful tips and encouragements.

Back to UV's... Anyone can have it. Just craft often and one day you'll end up with an awesome weapon.
Players whining that they have crappy uv's are just pathethic, all it takes is a little effort and some brains.:(

Also don't understand why there is so much hate here o.o the man is rich you gotta give him that. F2p or not, it doesn't concern you o.o... So instead of putting down other people on the forums, grab your swords and shield and start running the clockworks... Awesome uv's be yours in no time!

There. Merchanting is as simple as that in Spiral Knights. The more you invest, the more you earn. The more you earn, the more you can invest. People who can save their money for good occasions often proved to be the richest players in-game (F2P or not); those players can be found in the Bazaar and typically have threads that have been lasting for monthes.

Now if you want more in-depth advices on how to make money, there are many methods adapted to specific kinds of player.
-Materials reselling. The lowest of the lowest. Todo if you're a smart 2*.
-Common variants reselling. Todo if you're a smarter 2*.
-Rare variants reselling. Todo if you've made enough money doing the two first.
-5* reselling. Todo when you've stopped merchanting to enjoy the game a bit, this is important too.
-Accessories reselling. Todo if you're smart enough not to use them for yourself.
-Promotion items reselling. Notice that unlike other methods promotion items reselling works in two ways: either you bought a cheap promotion item you can resell instantly or you stacked up many promotion items whose value is going to inflate over the next few monthes, leading you to incredible profits (Example: Hacked Aura, Leafy Aura, unfeatured Rose sets...)

Things can be fair but still unsportsmanlike. I do think UV's are, for the most part, fair and sportsmanlike. I just dislike it when people refuse to put on full inspect so I can see what UV's they have. It's really annoying when you go to shock a guy and... Full shock UV!

Heart pendants and trinkets in general are unsportsmanlike. If you're using heart pendants, you're just burning real money to make me burn real money. Not to mention that they help the striker class more than anything else. Their existence makes the game less fun, so if you aim to have fun, pretend they don't exist.

From what I can tell selling games on Steam is a bit similar to a certain extent to selling promotion items where the benefit is clearly made when the game is bought 30-50% off and resold a few monthes later at it's original price. As for TF2/Dota2 or any other items, it seems they just all straightly convert to CE through their original $ price and people actually making profit on these are people bypassing this CE -> $, $ ->Item conversion to ripoff the seller. This last method kind of sucks since it clearly involves ripping off people on a $-based value.

I'm not entirely sure about this so forgive a newbie if he is wrong, but I thought that to be able to have 3 different alts ALL with their own mist tank you needed to have spent money on three of the accounts, having the forth account free with its own mist tank separated by the rest that have paid.

I would very much like to know what your answer or secret to his is, to have 4 accounts with their own 100 mist without paying a single cent as I too could benefit from it, and so could many others. But if you do have to pay then maybe, just maybe, you are perhaps breaking some OOO rules or working around it, which is probably immoral as it counts as exploiting it and the devs could change the rules of the game to not allow this.

Unfortunately, because of how potent and effective they are, you either use the best 2 for your level, or you're at such a disadvantage that you can only hope to win most fights (assuming equal skill). Although, then theres the argument that they HAD to be made readily available in order to keep people with a Visa/Mastercard from buying 2 off the AH and having an advantage over EVERYONE...

I was just saying that even doing the 3 alts thing could take a horrible amount of time get the gear I wear. I've never did it, since I don't have the need and I really find PVE boring.

There's no simple way of become ultra-rich, but is not impossible.

I'm 99.9% sure that I'm the only F2P with that rididulous amount of cr/ce. But still proves that Redblades point is invalid.

Don't think I'm against MasterCard players, because I'm not, for me is just "funnier" get the money merching.

In the US I've managed to floor a few people who had HP pendants using just two low ASI UV's. Can't play without immense lag from germany. Though I play Teir 2 because I'm cheap.

I understand that that's why OOO did that, though I think it would have been better to just keep them from working in PvP.

If I really want a UV on my equipment I'll buy it 2* from the AH then upgrade it to 5*. Scouring the AH is how I got my Voltedge with Undead Med and CTR Low.
