I'm not rich, nor have I ever hosted a contest before. If anyone wants to contribute more than 10k cr as a prize I will gladly hand over my hostership of this contest to you.

CE prices are rising; that much is evident. The Guess the Battle Sprite Release Date contest failed. As a result of these two, I am creating a new contest: guess the average ratio of crowns per 100 CE after the update. The average will be determined 3-4 weeks after the update. One submission per person. Submissions closes when the update is released. Multiple submissions will be disregarded and disqualified. Go!

My guess is 12000cr per 100ce.

We won't be able to use mist for things that require energy anymore, but at the same time, I think there will be more reason to have crowns on hand now.

I see no reason CE prices would raise POST-update... the only reason they are on the rise now is market panick induced by the inevitable drop in value for the currency... selling while it is still valued to people who think it will rise exponentially simply because of the words: "no more mist". I actually see a pretty big dip ahead, as influenced by the obsolescence of the crystalline currency. By the time people start finding the orbs (basically on their first run made after the update), add on the removal of elevator costs, compiled with the fact that the sparks of life will mean we don't always have to pay to rev regardless of the increased rev price (basically, at this point, the only use is revving every now and then when you run out of sparks), though also accounting for the fact that they SITLL do cost real money, and people aren't likely to sell something worth real money for much lower than 1k; I am actually going to lay my 2 cents on... hmmm... between a 1.5k to 3.4k pricing range, with an average of either 2.34k at highest, or 1.66k at lowest. There are my two cents.

Hmm... maybe i am undershooting a bit... that looks pretty insignificant :P

Not going full-length with explanation... here it is in short

If you are lazy enough to BUY orbs instead of getting them (based on how common three rings has IMPLIED they are), then you either don't need to be crafting, or couldn't possibly have the money... because you have obviously not run ANYTHING since the update. For those who don't know what i refer to when i say they implied it:

"As you play, you will find over time that you have more orbs than you need for the upgrade of your initial choice of weapons, and that you have the resources to build a broader arsenal of gear."

Now, if we are so in need of buying it, how is it we are going to be finding enough to build multiple sets?

...And elevator costs were a big thing in determining the base price of energy, as i stated before on other threads. The reason to sell is to get quick money that you otherwise would have taken longer to make any more with... now you don't make anything with the stuff any way beyond selling it.

... Sparks dropped will REDUCE the amount of need to buy sparks, so it won't universally be needed. Having an item's only use not even be needed all the time is a big thing.

Besides, this is coming from someone who just weeks ago couldn't talk about the update without getting steamed up enough to cook marshmallows on.... would you honestly think if there was still need to worry i would be out here supporting them? Or have any of you READ my test feedback? The changes and implications last post have reassured me that they won't kill the game even removing party revs. I don't see any reason it will cause a raise, overall; and has, in fact, dug itself out of the P2P rut it was in prior to the last announcement.

... oh yes! final price... umm... guess i will average my average. Put me down for 2k

well, yes, everyone will have their sets. problem is forging, apparently, and the fact that not everyone stops when he has killed darkfire. you'll need more than the gear you can get, if OOO is clever and won't handle out exactly the orbs that you need for 2-3 more pieces of gear. even if you stop at SLs. but than there are danger missions, difficulty options, and the probable content added after the sprites (but take a rest, devs really, you'll need it).

From that sentence that I just quoted, I assume he means in the quote YOU quoted something like this will happen:
Lets say it takes 3 orbs of the correct star level to upgrade a piece of equipment. Now lets say a knight, in 4*, is looking for some 5* orbs in T3 to get to 5*. After 2 hours of playing a day for a week on "hard"(average) mode, he finds: METRIC TONS of 1*s, quite a few 2*'s, a handful of 3*'s, 4 or 5 4*'s, 0-1 5*'s. At this rate, it will take him one or two months to get 1 5*. These rates will be lower in T1 and 2. To get the equipment, he can either keep playing (1-2 months), buy CE with actual money and trade it in (Instantly), or buy CE off the market (a couple days to get the crowns). And, as there is now unfathomable amounts of crowns in the market (lowering the value of them), CE will cost quite a bit to meet the demand of all the people in this situation.

I'm sorry if my tone was mean, and I'm also sorry if this is all unreadable. Really I'm just reminding you that there are multiple orbs of alch, not all drop rates are the same, not all gear has to be at 5* for Nick to be valid, there will still be demand for CE, and crowns will be so abundant, Ce prices will rise.
Edit: also, this is all guesswork.

That is only the first month; I think we'll continue to see it slowly go even higher. With current crown gains, I don't see it going over 25k for a long time. Should T4 be released, that will definitely change the prices.

I have an important question

At what point after the update will the price be taken from? Because if the price actually does increase or decrease from its current point, it might take a full week or two after the update to do so (as a result of the large amount of players in the clockworks and hence either a surplus of crowns, or a surplus of orbs/sparks)
