The wiki says the highest is a +30 vitapod. With this we have 5 base hp, 12 for two love lockets, 16 for an Ancient Plate set, Healthy Boost VI give 6, and the Scarlet Shield gives an additional 2. This all adds up to 71 hp. Even without the Healthy Boost VI, gold bars were achievable before the update.

The wiki is wrong and I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed yet. Anything higher than 21 is not possible without GM intervention.

usevn, wiki says the strongest vitapod currently available gives 21 more health (only achievable in the Shadow lairs). so nope, we weren't able to get them before.

5 initial health
+16 for fully heated Ancient Plate set
+2 from Scarlet Shield
+12 from two Penta-Heart Pendants
+6 from perks
= 41 health, meaning that the lowest vitapod that would give you over 60 health for gold health bars would be a +20.
The highest known vitapod is a +21.
So yes, it is possible to see golden bars, but only if you're foolish or skilled enough to run a Shadow Lair with a 3* shield and in Ancient Plate. Oh well, at least you're nearly invincible by then.

You can simply switch gear at the unknown passage for a minute or two. No need to suffer through the whole lair.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!
You can change your gear in the Sanctuary or the Core after the Shadow Lair. You don't need to do the run with the gear on.

You don't have to do the whole run with that set, you can just switch your gear at the unknown passage or the Sanctuary.

Ok everyone, there's a small detail I forgot: save some pills or sacrifice a spark.
Else you'll have the correct amount of health pips, but they won't be full.
Now, repeat it 3 times again.

Actually Juances at Sanctuary it automatically fills your health even when u put on all your life gear after you arrive......

Yes.
Natural HP (5) + Penta-Heart Trinkets (12) + Healthy Boost VI (6) + Ancient Plate set (16) + 21-vita from Shadow Lairs (21) = 60
Add the Scarlet Shield to see two gold health bars.
