I've never posted anything before so I wouldn't know if there's any posts about this already...

This has been bothering me since I joined the game, and I hope that others have also noticed this as well.

Not everyone has super-amazing-high speed-Ethernet/wireless-lightning-speed connect OR has a brand new computer. (If you couldn't already tell I have the complete opposite).

So, as the title calls, has anyone else been kicked out of a party just because they load too slowly or has anyone been 'harassed' by others to "hurry up or to "load faster" because of their loading speed?

I find it quite rude and immature of people to do this, and...well I just feel like people should learn to wait.

Discuss?? Comment? Read? Whatever one is supposed to do on here?

Ok...

Well, that's the reason why i went solo since i first started the game.
I had been called by several others as lagger(you know) just because it take 10 sec to load while they took 1-5sec to load, yes it doesn't make sense but they just..ergh..call me lagger and kicked me right away.

Personally,i never kicked anyone out of my party unless
1)They make me
2)They annoy me
3)Yelling at me for revive
4)They load hella slow(rarely(unless friends want to kicked em because they annoy),most of my teammates were my best friends so it doesn't matter how slow they load,as long as they are all skill vanguard it's ok :3 beside it's fun chatting in fsc while three trojan spam infront of ya xD).
5)Random vanguard(wanna know why?)
Here's why,the rushing through everything and yelling at you to get on the elevators for basil run. >.>"

Never had someone get mad at

Never had someone get mad at me for loading so slow, you probably just meet people who are in a rush.

I think a lot of people are

I think a lot of people are just really impatient. I was in a FSC run recently where the leader kicked people for stalling for ~5 seconds before getting on an elevator or a party button. After he kicked the other two people I ditched him and joined back up one of the people he kicked instead because I'm not going to run with a jerk.

While kicking for loading times is even worse than stalling for a few seconds because it's entirely beyond a player's control, the solution is the same - just try to avoid running with people who don't have at least some modicum of common courtesy. Joining a guild is the best way to do this.

@Kalaina

One of the largest complainers is a Vet in my guild actually.

My friends LOVE to OCH-hammer me to the button while I'm loading.

Hm... I guess some people's mannerisms are different?

Yeah...

Could just be the people you run with, I personally have a horrendous load time. Nearly nobody I run with really complain about from my end at least.

Well, it goes without saying

Well, it goes without saying that to get the benefits of a sensible guild, you have to actually join a sensible guild that doesn't allow people like that to join.

How dare they!!!

Mcchineseninja is the coolest person in Spiral Knights period!
Mc might take forever to load but Mc is worth waiting for. Mc makes everything fun and they're my personal lucky charm.
Who would kick the awesomest person?

As for people who kick other people, that's just dumb! Do people not have patience to wait some seconds for someone to load?! I have a lot of patience so I can't speak for all people but I can wait for someone to load and not be a total jerk and kick them.
I guess people are just brought up different and have no manners.
If people are in a hurry and can't wait why not just go solo? It makes no sense to me.

@Dragneel-If people have such a busy schedule with "lives, jobs, families" the last thing they should be doing is playing video games. Makes sense, no?

@Davjo-Congrats dude!

I hate when people want to do a "speedrun" (lately for black kats) but then they don't say anything in the mission lobby and they don't lock their party. Why would you let people join if you're just going to skip everything anyway? I don't care if elevators are free, ignoring enemies is still throwing money away, and I'm not leaving until everything is dead.

As for when I'm leader, I only kick people if they're idle for more than 5 minutes (mostly when I need them to step on the party button) or disconnected for most of the floor (it usually autokicks after a bit anyway)

Merp.

@Batabii Yeah, that's logical, of course, but I'm talking about when people are loading to the mission lobbies and levels... Being Idle, Loading, and DCing are completely different things.

@Jesuswasblack Thanks. You're awesome. This is why we're friends! It's always amusing to find you waiting there running around my character, or sitting down on the side until I finish loading.

I have actually played with Fezhor before, and I am aware of their sense of humour. I don't see why you posted that redirect when that doesn't really relate much to my topic.

Maybe.

Maybe I have. Maybe I have not.
Either way it pans out, I have learned to accept those who actually fit the profile you described as they are, impatient.

Conversely, I have had impatient people in my part'y who would urge me to kick someone if they disconnected, weren't loading quick enough, or felt their lower ranking (not being a Vanguard) or lack of equipment would slow the party down.

The only occasions where I have been obliged to such requests are when
* I am short on time
- - - AND - - -
* they are having connection issues.

Even then, I would leave them a "whisper" about me moving on while only inviting them after the kick, should they both feel the need to want to join "us" once they are reconnected (providing we have not hit the boss level yet) and have the knowledge of how to follow through with my invitation.

Otherwise, I only ask in parties I host "What's the rush, bro?" to all who actually want to rush only because I progressed through the game myself in a timely fashion, rank-wise. I more or less carry the same demeanor throughout clockworks unless the mood suggests haste (a race, mineral run, challenge, or what have you).

So you continue being you with your half competent connectivity like many of us in Clockworks and let them rush to their many deaths.

That is kind of how I see it.

If I have a friend that is loading slowly Ill say something like, "Dat slow computer" but I have never kicked a person from a party because of loading times.

You can play with me.

Mcchineseninja wrote: "I've never posted anything before so I wouldn't know if there's any posts about this already..."
You need to READ posts to find out if there's been anything like this before, not post stuff. ;P

Anyway, I yell at people not to run off (I used to say playing alone is boring, but since Mist got abolished, well if I want to play alone I just play alone, not in a party).
I kick them when they don't listen (it seriously spoils my fun when they're running off to do who knows what), and remove them from my friend list; I don't want to play with such people.

There's only 4 places where splitting up is ok, all of them in Boss lairs.
- Snarby 2nd level where you have keys on left and right; friend of me insists on doing the right side in a certain way, so I leave him to it.
- Jelly King 1st level where you have statues on left and right side, splitting is possible if the others really want it, though I'd rather not. (I prefer right side so people don't hit the switch before I'm done clearing up.)
- Twins 2nd level, where you have to pick a path from 2nd to last party button to the last one, if someone stays behind and the other hits a switch by the last party button you can get both paths done (it's allowed, I asked Support).
- Vanaduke, I guess most people know the Sprite (Spirit? I forgot.) level. (But I don't go there anyway, unless it's a very special occasion. Even then I'd rather come before the last party button on D:27, to shiver if needed.)

So, add mee as a friend and I'll wait until you're loaded, if you don't mind company that usually isn't in any hurry, and hates rushing. :)

(Back on old computer I had terrible loading times too. When I got a new computer my friends said they're even happier about it than I, because it loads faster! Lately it seems to take ages again anyway, oh well.)

When there were still elevator costs, I joined a King of Ashes Mission (FSC), and the people didn't tell me they were speed running to vanaduke. After a while they all said hurry up mate and stuff like that and I ended up getting booted simply because I didn't want to rush to Vana, waste my energy and miss out on money.

I still remember his name. >_>

/me wants to name and shame but cannot and shall not.

I will only kick for loading

I will only kick for loading if it gets up to 60 seconds consistently, but I have never met such a person. Teasing guildies when they load slowly is funny, though. Then I sometimes get people who rage about me loadig in 1 to 2.5 seconds.

Other than that, I always speed ran on an elevator pass because hello, it was time based. Now that all elevators are free I just relax and slow down, which allows me to die less. Though I get quite annoyed when people go way off to get the zombies in the wheel room on D27. It's pointless and about 50 crowns. If we were mist pinching then I'd be fine, but c'mon. Purposely slowing down the party like that is annoying. I'm not a speed runner anymore by any means, but there are things like that which do annoy me.

Hm...

I'd met a few Knights who were laggy or slow (Internet-wise), but never would I kick them out. Unless they were offensive/rude.
