I am going for vog cub set / any wolver set and they are made for swords.

I currently have Dark Thorn Blade and Blackhawk.

Question 1: Should I replace my Blackhawk with a sword since I am a striker?

If so, my 2nd question is:

What line should I use besides barb thorn blade:

Vote:

1. Leviathan Blade
2. Glacius
3. Dread Venom Striker
4. Divine Avenger / Warmaster Rocket Hammer (whichever is better)
5. Gran Faust
6. Sudaruska

So, should I replace my Sentenza line for a 2nd sword, and if so, which sword?

Also, it'd be nice if you gave a reason for why I should ditch / keep and why the sword is good if I do ditch.

I normal sword seems good, let's see

1. Sudaruska = Best Damage of any sword, stun
2. Leviathan Blade = Good damage and decent speed
3. Dread Venom Striker = AMAZINGLY FAST, decent damage, poison
4. Glacius = Freeze, but mixed normal and elemental

I'm leaning towards DVS...

Have you read my detailed sword guide? It gives lots of advice on how to mix and match damage types, including swords with sidearms.

In particular, as soon as you're going to have two or more swords, then you probably don't want either of them to be normal. Sudaruska certainly does not do the best damage of any sword. DVS/WHB is perhaps the hardest-to-use sword in the game. It really shines in very few situations. I don't know why Glacius is in your mix of normal swords. Combuster is better than Glacius. I could go on, but maybe you could read some of my guide and save me some typing.

My advice: Don't limit yourself to the Striker/Guardian/Recon/Swordsman/Gunslinger/Bomber class mindset. You'll just block yourself unnecessarily.

That being said, my favorite normal damage sword is the Cutter line, but the most useful normal damage sword is probably the Calibur -> Leviathan line (IMO). I don't consider Brandishes to be normal-damage swords. They're specialized damage. Ideally you'll want one sword of each damage type (switching them around when appropriate), instead of a sword that deals normal damage.

Also, I almost always have a gun equipped. Even if it's a Proto gun, the utility alone is worth so much (ideally you'll want at least a Blaster for the knockback). It gives you a safe option for when you're low health, lets you pull enemy aggro, let's you flip switches from range, lets you do chip damage (or, with the right gun/loadout, it'll just flat out kill things, instead of tickle them), and even crowd control (once again, with the right gun).

After reading comments and watching some review videos, I have decided to go for DVS.

It has an extremely high DPS, decent damage, awesome charge, and poison chance.

I have also heard it's useful for Vanaduke.

How did you conclude that Dread Venom Striker has extremely high DPS? It has middling DPS (data). DVS' charge is fun, but highly dangerous. It simply takes too long. You need to make sure that the monster isn't about to attack you, and that other monsters aren't about to attack you. Even Wild Hunting Blade's charge is safer.

DVS is a fun sword, and you should use whatever you want, but you should be basing your judgment on correct facts at least.
