(If anyone knows any of these people and you see them in game, I'd appreciate it if you point them in this direction. Other than Soral and maybe Vez, I don't think the others bother with the forums all that much).

So, this is apparently the only way I can contact you guys. SK hasn't been working for me for a few days now. I submitted a bug report, received a response that everything was fixed, but nothing is actually fixed. Now, the bug report form is bugged, so I can't even submit another bug report. Long story short, I think this is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. This, all the other bugs, along with everything else I don't like about the game since the update has me on the verge of quitting SK. Surely, there are many better things (including other games) on which I can be spending my time. I'll try to get back in now and again, but this could be it for me.

On the bright side, a RL friend has talked me into going to the dark side and giving Steam another chance. I've installed it and tried to find you guys, but Steam is telling me that I can't add friends until I have games installed. I installed SK, ironically, and it still won't let me add friends. Maybe if you guys add me, it'll work out. Unfortunately, Kneller is already taken as a username, but you can find me as WaitingForOctober.

Well, see you guys soon, hopefully.

-Kneller

Edit: I just looked up on the Steam website that I basically can't add friends until I buy something from Steam. Yeah, they're screwing up their second chance already.

Steam prevents you from sending F-requests until you buy something in order to prevent (or at least reduce) spam bots.

Note that while you can't

Note that while you can't send friend requests, you can still receive and accept them.

@Hollows Thanks! @Travevellia

@Hollows

Thanks!

@Travevelliath

I know that's why they do it, and it makes sense. But, as a person who has been burned by Steam before, I'm not planning to spend any money there any time soon. As far as I'm concerned, it's up to them to win me back.

Hey Kneller :)

I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with Spiral Knights. :( I've also sent you a friend request, so let me know if there's anything I can do to help you. :)

Thanks to Hollows and Veca for directing me here. <3

It's worth noting...

That gifted games also "unlock" the account to add people, and I happen to have a few on me...but apparently that won't let you use the community market because "valve wants your money first," otherwise, turn steam guard on so you can trade, and then worry about whatever else from there.

also "hi"

First, I'm not sure I

First, I'm not sure I understood a word you said. Second, I'm probably not worried about any kind of market, I just want access to the social features.

Third, "Hi, back"
:D

basically

Having any game that actually costs money to valve in your steam library makes it so you can add people and such, though apparently now there's also additional "slots" for friends when you craft badges and things now because somehow the majority of steam seems to have a minimum of like, 500 friends PER PERSON, otherwise, someone can gift you a game or you can trade for one and it'll let you add people after that.

short version: buy a game, trade something for one, or have someone give you a copy of one, it'll open the account to add people
