What's the best loadout to do deathless solo HoI?

Because I'm having trouble putting together a good loadout. BTB and thorn bomb are really the only piercing weapons that seem safe to use against fiends/beasts. You can't shiver them because they're all frost themed. There's no 5* antigua style pierce gun so you can't really kite all that well, and trying to use a blitz to deal ranged damage against fiends is kind of laughable.

I dunno. I can knock down the other instances pretty well on my own, but HoI just seems brutal. I had to go out and craft a snarby set specifically for it and it still seems like a pain. Love to hear some advice.

Go Proto with no weapons or sprite and attack with only Vilas and shield bumps. Be glad I let you use your shield.

You don't need anything complicated. Haze bombs help a lot though.

@ Leekcoco, yeah I just went

@ Leekcoco, yeah I just went over to youtube and saw that. I guess it makes sense to use a brandish, thing is OP as heck so even if you're only getting neutral on the fiends it probably is a lot safer than trying to take em out straight up with a BTB. I'll try bringing one of those tomorrow.

my 2 cents

My loadout

BTB, Combuster, Blitz, Polaris
Snarbo set
Dread shield
Would go for asi on sword or asi on gun with my sprite...

Voltaic is also the best support for this. But I really mean THE BEST support. (instead of polaris)

It is extremely good against wolver and devilish. Plus if you have a maskeraith to take out certain enemies (devilish, turrets, trojans, greavers) you can really make it easy on yourself ^ ^

.

I guess I'll try BTB, Shockburst, VT, AP.

Snarby set for armor, don't have a freeze resist shield so I guess I'll have to use CoA. Probably gonna use an ASI for sword and CTR for bomb.

I used snarby cap, skolver

I used snarby cap, skolver coat (for extra freeze resist), dread skelly shield, sizzling hearthstone pendant, penta heart pendant
furious flamberge, callahan, polaris, warmaster rocket hammer
(didn't have btb, but that would be the better choice)

I used hammer instead of blitz since blitz is a pain to use with all those frozen souls around and during the boss battle mobility is more important when you have all those enemies around you and you need to knock down those ice columns quickly (although you could shoot him up with other guns too). Freeze resist is the most important though you can't be immune to everything.

this was before sprites but I've heard using the shield on seraphynx made it really easy.

I'd say Toothpick+Blitz+Polaris w/ BKC+Radiant Silvermail+Dread Skelly Shield and then the fiend damage perk maybe.

Black Kat Cowl, Snarbolax

Black Kat Cowl, Snarbolax Coat, Dread Skelly Shield, Final Flourish, Combuster, Dread Venom Striker, Valiance and probably Seraphynx (Swift Steps II) for Aura&Heart Attack, 2 Elite Quick Strike Modules (switch them for Heart Pendants if you have ASI UVs)

FF is obvious choice, Combuster can spread fire status well + you can safely charge it up if you know basic dodging. DVS is useful to cancel all these weak attacks very quickly (Greavers and Devilities) and works well against Trojans&Maulos (+poison). Valiance is just solid all-around gun, mobile, little knockback, decent clip size.

This loadout is quite risky since you start with 13 HP but at the same time provides lots of defense against freeze and shadow damage. It focuses on mobility (MSI High, Sword ASI VH), you can keep your distance with Combuster/Valiance or come closer with FF/DVS. Works like charm for me, In worst case scenarion I end up using Emergency Revive, if I find vitapod there's no problem with saving even ER.

EDIT:// I think you underestimate Valiance, I'm too lazy to point everything out but probably someone will anyway.

Black Kat Cowl + Snarbolax Coat

Dread Skelly Shield

Barbarous Thorn/Final Flourish
Blitz Needle (trust me, against fiends with BKC and a Gun damage trinket, it's so easy)
Argent Peacemaker (For breaking blocks quickly)
Electron Vortex (If you enjoy killing lots of enemies at once :3)

What ever trinkets you want. :3 For survivability and a definite no death run, 2 Penta hearts. I run with a Sword ASI and Gun Damage trinket.

Maskereith with Swift Steps II. Using the quills deals a ton of damage and using your Shadow Cloak when you're in trouble is great, especially if you have deadly shadow cloak which when you come out of it deals a crap ton of damage to take care of those annoying enemies first.

That's all you need to own in HoI.

Black Kat Cowl, Snarbolax Coat, Dread Skelly Shield, Dark Briar Barrage, Callahan, Warmaster Rocket Hammer.

Hammer instead of a flourish because it lets you move and attack at the same time, making it easy to dodge. The dash also breaks ice blockades quickly.

Callahan can be switched with a Blitz if you're confident, but it's nice to have something reliable.

DBB is... well, I don't need to explain this one.

So the VT made a huge

So the VT made a huge difference, was able to get through everything A-OK except the 2nd wave of the last arena 100-0'd me twice, ugh... I ended up bringing BTB Hammer AP and VT. I'll probably swap out the hammer for a DBB since the hammer didn't get much usage. Still, an improvement. I'm thinking next time it rolls around I should be able to do it deathless.

Hey man, don't dis the Valiance! Valiance is probably one of the best utility guns of the game because each individual shot knocks back and interrupts targets. Callahan can also work for the same reason, except it actually does a decent amount of damage (Not absurd Blitz Charge amounts of damage, but still good enough to kill a Devilite in a few shots when solo).

Also, you can try the Radiant Silvermail, combined with Snarby or Skolver for some status resists.

HoI is also a good place to break out a Supernova if you have one.
